Have a dear friend, single mom of 3 girls, who just got a “your car is dying” notice from the shop.
She’s looking for a hatchback style, used vehicle in as good a shape as she can find/afford. Things like Hondas, or Toyota Matrix are cars she’s interested in. Her budget is $13K or under. If anyone knows of someone with something for sale, I’ll pass it along to her.
If she is looking at a Matrix, you may also want her to look at the Pontiac Vibe. It was a joint venture between Toyota and GM and is mechanicaly the same as the Matrix with a slightly different body style.
What does the shop say is wrong with her current vehicle?
2003 Hyundai Elantra 180,000 auto, air, upgraded stereo, cruise, maroon in color, set of snow chains, tires are about a year old, new timing belt, runs great.
I personally know this person, she takes GREAT care of her cars.
