YouthCare is looking for food donations from individuals or restaurants for our YouthBuild program (located at South Seattle Community College) during the lunch hour of Sept 26-30 and Oct 3-7. YouthCare works with homeless youth to get them off the street and preparing for life.
We are kicking off a new class of one of our employment programs. YouthBuild is an inspirational program that helps youth turn their lives around through community college credits, construction and teamwork skills. During their mental toughness weeks, we’re looking for people to bring in food for their lunches (for 25 young people). For more information please contact Joy Mills at joy.mills-parker@youthcare.org or 206-204-1404.
YouthCare has been serving homeless young people in Seattle for over 35 years, building confidence and self-sufficiency by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training.
YouthCare’s YouthBuild is a nationally recognized 6-12 month work training program designed to unleash the positive energy of unemployed, young adults to rebuild their communities and their own lives, with a commitment to work, education, community and family. These young people will learn construction skills and team work while building houses for Habitat for Humanity and pursuing their education goals.
