swthistleMemberWe went tonight to Feedback..the place was busy and understaffed. The waitress mentioned that it wasn’t busy last night so they let a few servers have the night off..bad discision. We ordered a bottle of wine, a blue cheese burger and pork medallions. The wine was good the food was absolutly terrible, except the fries they were okay. They need work on their menu it doesn’t really jive well with the atmosphere. The wine we ordered was charged out $2 more than the menu price stated, which we pointed out to our server and told her to keep the difference. We liked the interior job they have done on the space. The whole block looks great now with BPP, Feedback and Zeeks what a great improvement to the neighborhood. I wish them the best of luck we’ll try them again in a month or two.

lazybeardParticipantI went around 6ish until about 8 last night with a couple of folks and I was probably the youngest person there, but not hairiest by a long shot.
I had a great time! We split the Hot Wings & Tangy Wings, and then I had the pork chops (hearty helping of mashed potatoes and a couple of meaty asparagus too). We took over two couches and drank and had a great time.

AnonymousInactivelazybeard I saw you there last night I think. were you wearing a tan button up shirt partially unbuttoned about half way down with that luxuriously furry undercoat protruding from your shirt? Those dolphin shorts were pretty swank as well.
I had some chicken wings and they were really good. loved the atmosphere there as well as I was ahuge kiss fan when I was a little girl.

AnonymousInactiveNaturalMom,
I never much cared for Kiss, but they also have a Styx photo near the Whammy Bar. I was a huge Styx fan in my infancy.
lazybeard,
Excessive fur may truly be a sign of good manly health. You ladies out there better beware of the lazybeard, he may be an animal in good ways.

trensuelaMemberFeedback Lounge has an impressive array of high end booze.
If Kiss is your thing that this is the place for you as Kiss memorabelia is well represented.
I am with NoLikeyCupcakes though, I liked Styx better back in the 70s than Kiss.

JEMParticipantSo does anybody know why they cover up their front windows with black plastic every night? Every morning when my BF walks by he says the windows are covered up. Trying to hide the view of the high-end booze? Just curious!
May 1, 2009 at 5:11 pm #665166
trensuelaMemberJEM,
I believe the use of black plastic is similar to a practice which takes place in Dublin. Pubs are required to close early so in order to get around that the pubs make it appear that they are shut down when in fact people are drinking all night there. I think that the Feedback Lounge may remain open all night for those comitting to running the distance. This would totally be a totally rock n roll lifestyle thing to do.
May 1, 2009 at 5:17 pm #665167
FullTiltParticipantIt is a security thing. A lot of bars do this. People are less likely to break in if they are not sure that someone is not there.
May 1, 2009 at 7:01 pm #665168
JEMParticipantThanks trensuela and FullTilt. Those were my two theories.

JiggersMemberOk… I decided to go to the Feedback Lounge last night and what happened was that 1)I got hammered 2)I got hammered 3) I am now hanging…lol. No seriously, I am hanging though as I type this out right now. The prime time Friday night crowd was good mix of young/older well behaved. There’s a lot of new faces in W.S. I’ve noticed doing the bar hopping scene. But who knows were the crowd come’s from, its anybody’s guess. Yep..W.S. isn’t like how it used to be the sleepy town though. I’d say they probably had around 100 people constantly last night. They really opened the interior up to give you more space to lounge around in and not feel like sardines. I didn’t try any of the food because It was my intention to just drink. I ponied up to the bar which is enormous and well done. There is a lot of good high-end booze as well. Hospitlity is Jeff Gilbert’s(owner)middle name. It comes naturally for him to make you feel welcomed. He is a big time people person and knows how to interact with his customers. Now the service (which is my expertise in) is that the they definetley are still somewhat short-staffed behind the bar for a busy weekend drinking crowd like last night. But it’s understandable when you got everyone in W.S. trying to get a drink at the same time. Go in their when its not busy like on a weeknight (for now) if you don’t like crowds. They are brand new so they’ll be busy for a few more weeks until everyone’s been their done that. I’m sure though that as time goes on, there won’t be much problems like they had encountered last night(not trying to discourage anyone from not going who’s reading this,go in and try them). Overall the floor staff is professional as well. I’ll have to go in earlier next time and try some food when they’re not slammed. I’ll be back for sure.

JiggersMembertrensuela..Led Zepp 2 it has everything on it from hard riffing blues sound in the Lemon Song to a clasic rock love ballad in Thank You. I nver got tired of listening to it. Now Led Zep 4 would have been up there, but radio simply overplayed it to death. Tid Bit: I never realized until after listening to 2112 by Rush only awhile after way back then when it was released, that Ayn Rand was a motivating factor in Rush’s objectivism to their lyrics in their music. The album 2112 was based loosely on the book Anthem by Ayn Rand.

aunteesocialParticipantJiggers- nice to see a nod to 2112. I played that album so many times… my mom just LOVED to hear Geddy Lee at high volume for days, weeks, months.. (not). She was a musician, and never made me turn it off.. Anyway, I sought out Ayn Rand’s books after reading in the lyrics section:
2112
Lyrics by Neil Peart
With acknowledgment to the genius of Ayn Rand
I then went on to base an essay in my high school creative writing class based on 2112..based on Anthem.. and got an A+, of course. -Thanks Ayn and Neil! (Don’t tell Mrs. Cross!)

villagegreenMemberMost people that want to have probably already checked out the Feedback by now, but I’ll go ahead and give my 2 cents anyway. Went last Saturday night around 10pm and snagged the very last table back in the Whammy Bar. The place was packed.
They’ve done a really nice job renovating the place. You’d never realize the Beverage Place Pub used to be there unless someone told you. Very red and black with a beautiful wood bar. Lots of rock paraphernalia on the walls and live videos/concerts on the flatscreens. I was actually sorta shocked at how nice it was. I had heard there were couches in the bar, but I was thinking more the vintage style than the modern black leather style. I guess I was thinking it’d be a little more ‘punk rock’ than ‘butt rock.’
Actually, there was a really good mix of people. Old long hairs, cougars wearing leopard print, young hipsters, butt-rockers and your average joes. Definitely a unique mix for West Seattle. After the buzz dies down I’ll be interested to see who remains. Hopefully it keeps the diverse clientele.
Can’t say much about the food or drinks as we only drank Spaten Pils and Rye Whiskey. There did seem to be a very large selection of liquor, though. Had the chips and salsa as well, which was pretty good and cost effective at only 4 bucks. All in all it seems like a great place (just the shot in the arm that WS nightlife needed) and I will definitely be back soon.
May 5, 2009 at 8:20 pm #665175
ella713MemberDoes West Seattle really need another “butt rock” bar? Doesn’t the Corner Pocket and Redline provide enough for one neighborhood. I was really excited about this place at first. I thought it would actually be lounge, not just another lame loud place where kids who were in diapers when butt rock was around the first time, walk about like know one has ever heard of Judas Priest but them! lol
May 5, 2009 at 9:11 pm #665176
AlParticipantUm, ella713, have you been there? It’s not the same as Corner & Redline at all. I wouldn’t classify those that were there “kids” either. I often see a younger crowd at Beveridge Place. My drinks were very, very good, the blues was playing and I’ll be back there soon.
May 5, 2009 at 10:12 pm #665177
villagegreenMemberella713 – give the Feedback a try. It is absolutely nothing like the Redline or Corner Pocket. I bet the music they plays varies greatly depending on the night of the week. Saturdays (the night we were there) are probably the most rockin. I bet weeknights are a little more chill, if that’s your thing. As I said, this place is NICE. I would not say the same about the Redline or Corner Pocket. Also, I would say the crowd actually skews towards the older folks. I’m 41 and I actually felt fairly young for once.

jayjayb74ParticipantHere is my little review……. I went there last night with the girlfriend. We were hungry and looking for some grub. We decided that we might get pasta and a burger. When we went to order they said that they were not serving burgers ,pasta or dessert. That left a pretty sparse menu of items that sounded ok but would be the first ones that I would cut on a menu….needless to say we got some apps and went home a little hungry. I realize that this is a lounge but the really need to dial in on an acceptable food menu otherwise I think they might be in trouble. Whats wrong with grilled cheese and soup or a club sandwich? Pretty low tech and fairly universal for bar food. I wish them luck as in this new ecomomy beacuse I really like the space.

L2549060MemberThe Feedback Lounge is all about creativity, dedication, and hard work; everything that embodies music and what artists go through to express their passion. Like any song that begins with that first musical note, and germinates into that one rockin’ song you play on repeat, the FBL may indeed have a few riffs to work out. But, ultimately, it’s working out the kinks that results in something classic and legendary. Like my favorite cocktail, the St. Basil, which is a unique blend of Elderflower, Lemon & Basil, the Feedback is a unique venue. How often does one get to play sit-down Ms Packman, and sit on a Kiss barstool all in the same room while oogling at rock photography. For myself, I’m looking forward to trying all the specialty cocktails, the burger, and the Bread Pudding, yum! Now if only I could get that Kiss barstool moved to the front room with my own “Reserved” sign.

HMC RichParticipantI cannot wait to go but life and a toddler have not allowed me to visit my old TV hosts place, YET. I plan on bringing in some of the shows Jeff hosted when I was younger. I have gotten older but he hasn’t. Jeff never ages, or if he does he is like a fine wine and just gets better. This place sounds great.
Swill as ONE! Cheers!
