    I’m dying to know, did anyone go to the Feedback Lounge opening yesterday? And if so, how was it?

    Went last night around 7. Enjoyed a PBR & JD for $8 while sitting on the Iron Maiden bar stool checking out the ticket stubs and backstage press passes under glass at the Beer & Shots bar. The b&w front projection on the back wall had the DC5! The staff are familar and Mr. Gilbert certainly knows how to work the room. Check it out.

    wow…a new place opens, and only 2 post???? What gives?? I’ve heard it’s an amazing place..I’ll give a shot during a weeknight.

    Forum’s slower on weekends – main page traffic drops a little on weekends but forum drops dramatically; I figure it’s a workplace diversion. We heard in e-mail from someone who said it was jammed and they had a blast. We would have dropped by if not for the fact the SWAT situation (and processing video etc. afterward) ate up most of the evening. But our preview from Thursday likely provided a fair amount of flavor.

    And now that Skillet’s day one is in the books (if you haven’t seen the addition to the main story, Skillet noted via Twitter that this was not only their biggest opening day ever, but also their biggest day PERIOD ever) … stand by for Zeeks Pizza wall-to-wall opening day coverage on Friday :)

    Would love to hear more reviews. We tried to stop by around 5pm tonight for “happy hour” but a sign on the door said not opening til 6 due to “mechanical issues”. Hope it all worked out and we WILL be there next weekend!

    We stopped by around 7:30 and it was PACKED. Seemed like a pretty fun place. Definitely a different crowd than most other places in WS. I heard someone else describe it as “butt rock city”. We ended up bailing and going to the Bev after waiting at the bar for 15 minutes to get a drink, so I’ll have to try again when it isn’t so busy.

    rule of thumb …don’t go on opening night – lol…give them time to work out the kinks…”butt rock city”, huh…interesting…will have to look in my closet for some…fashion – lol…

    I just got back from having an after work beer at the Feedback Lounge. Funny that I have an after work beer on what should be my day off.

    Jeff and crew have done a great job in creating a fun, and not to mention beautiful bar. Great rock memorabilia on the walls without having a “Hard Rock Cafe” feel. Looks nothing like the old BPP did in the same location. The beer cooler is gone, and they opened up the entire place. It seems HUGE now.

    They told me that they had to stop letting people in opening night it got so busy. I am hoping for this place to get scuffed up a little bit and becomes the hard rock dive that it should be. Maybe that will chase off the Tommy Bahama wearing jerks that took my seat at the bar when I went to the bathroom.

    I guess they are going to start having music themed nights soon, like Motown Mondays. Holy crap I can not wait for that. They should get a good DJ to spin old soul records some night.

    I forgot my camera, but you should go check it out for yourselves. Just remember when you see a pile of stuff on a bar, like a cell phone, cash, a tshirt, etc, that means some one is sitting there!

    I was also there last night – the front was busy, back empty. Didn’t see a person under 35, and most considerably older, for the first hour or so, but quite a mix of long hairs, after work people, that Tommy Bahama embroidered jacket wearing guy that Full Tilt mentioned, your typical West Seattle mix… As we got closer to 8pm the clientele starting getting younger. I liked the demographics.

    Sat at the bar and had a couple of cocktails “A Thousand Injuries” (brandy and Licor 43 cocktail) and “Brazilian” (acai infused vodka cocktail) and a delicious and huge cobb salad; BF had a rye-containing cocktail then a manhattan and the antipasti plate which was also substantial. We were happy with the quality of all. Our bartender is still learning the cocktail menu so not as quick as he soon will be. Another couple of weeks will have him knocking them out. While not our bartender, another guy kept checking on us; I can only assume that’s Jeff, as he wanted feedback (heh!) on our drinks/food. The music in the background was eclectic and excellent, but was marred for several minutes by the person who decided to play the piano in the back room. One or the other please, not both. I was fascinated by the ticket stubs and passes under glass in the whammy bar going back to the ’70s. Really took me back to my early concert-going experiences.

    BF said it was the best manhattan he’s had (and he’s had many) and he loved the atmosphere. I liked the atmosphere, price point on the food, quality of the food, and the creative cocktails. I look forward to my next visit which will probably be soon. Two thumbs up.

    What? The best Manhattan? I thought that I alone made “the best Manhattan.” This is cause for investigation. Feedback and Feedbag… I am going to have to make a visit real soon!

    Stopped by last night, I would agree with the demographic comments. The drink menu was adventurous but poorly executed. My wife mentioned it looked like they used a consultant on their cocktails menu as many of the drinks were familiar, or variants from local bartenders. The taste was off, the bartender was dutifully following an instruction sheet, and no real bartending was happening, they were just throwing stuff into glasses. Service was off as well, but not any more than I would expect for a bar that had been open for three days. Hopefully with some time things will settle down and get a bit better. Selling yourself as having knowledgeable bartenders with an ambitious menu is a lot of work, and they weren’t there yet. All aside I will be there for shots and beer based on the spaten pils on tap.

    I was a bartender many years ago; and at the same time that I was a kindergarten teacher. Really not very different. I am glad that I don’t tend bar any longer. The foofy drinks are silly and more costly than they are worth. If a bartender can make a good Manhattan, an Old Fashion, and a Gibson then she/he are alright in my book.

    Vincent…for you, is that a good thing or a bad thing? Censored, I mean.lol….I, for one, think the ice cream is..heavenly :)

    now…a question for those who have had the antipasti plate at Feedback…there is something on the plate called “mortebella”. I would like to know exactly what it is? I wrote to the owner to give some…errr…feedback…and got a response that said something about no spellcheck, but the menu hasn’t been changed yet. Is it “mortadella”, an italian lunchmeat? or is it a dead (mort) mushroom (ebella)? just curious…;-)

    Mortadella is an Italian Sausage of pork,beef and pork fat; seasoned and usually flavored with the addition of wine. Mortadella used to be seasoned with myrtle (latin – murt). Thus the name. Not sure if myrtle is still a seasoning used in this sausage.

    Flowerpetal..having grown up on the east coast, mortadella was a normal commodity, esp. in sub sandwiches (it’s yummy – esp. if it has pistachios in it). I just found it humorous that the item on the Feedback menu was morteBella…hence, my question.:)
