KathyMParticipantI am planning to repaint my West Seattle house this summer. Does anyone have a great recommendation, suggestion where to start looking, or a warning of what to avoid?
Thanks!

EmmyJaneParticipantI can tell you what to avoid. Doing it yourself. I’ve never been more grumpy in my life.

ClawGirlMemberWe use Igor Kholyusev of Five Star Painting for inside and out. His work is very good, and his price very reasonable. His number is 206-795-0599. We’ve used him for years and love his work.

KathyMParticipantThank you for the suggestions — including the reminder that I will be cranky all summer if I try to do it myself. I’ll let you know how it works out!

Brian did our house two years ago and it still looks like brand new. He was efficient, terrific to work with, his crew knew what they were doing and they took the time to make sure the house was prepped properly. We had some unique issues (both aluminum and wood siding) as well as some minor repairs. I can’t say enough about his quality of work and excellent business ethics.
If you’d like to see the job he did on our house in the Admiral area LMK and I can give you our address.
Good luck!

megMemberWe are going to get some estimates- but have no idea even a ballpark figure of how much it might cost. Anyone have any vague idea? our house is about 1400sq.ft. I know there are many factors that play into the cost- but we aren’t sure if we should even consider it an option or not!

josie2006MemberGet at least 3 estimates and be sure to ask whether they spray or roll the paint on, and what brand they use. We made the mistake of going with a guy who used cheap paint and sprayed it on, and 2 years later it was peeling off everywhere. We know better now, but back then had no clue. As far as cost, I’m not sure, we paid about $3000 5 years ago for poor work on our small bungalow (850 sf). All the estimates were about the same, so it wasn’t like we went with the cheapest one either. We chose the local guy, sad to say.
