Explosions/shots Saturday morning?

Yesterday morning, we heard at least three loud explosions or bangs that seemed like they were coming from the direction of alki or the Sound. They were loud and boomy—similar to when they shoot cannons for the Pirate Festival—but I didn’t see anything that would account for them.

Kinda surprised not to see a report already in the WSB. Anyone have any idea what we heard?

I heard them too, and they woke my daughter up–she thought we were having an earthquake. I wonder if they were cannons from the Lady Washington or something, doing their part for the Opening Day festivities? It sounded like cannons to me, too.
