Are you ready to embark on a dynamic and exhilarating journey with a renowned not-for-profit organization? Fauntleroy Children’s Center (FCC) / Fauntleroy Community Service Agency (FCSA) is calling for a visionary leader to spearhead our exceptional childcare center and oversee the beautiful historic Schoolhouse that is so special to our West Seattle community.
Our Community: Since 1978, FCC/FCSA has been an integral part of the West Seattle landscape, making a lasting impact as a registered 501(c3) non-profit with NAEYC-accredited childcare services catering to young minds from newborns to 12-year-olds. With a robust enrollment of over 100 children from 60+ families, we’ve nurtured a tight-knit community bolstered by dedicated staff and devoted families. We also proudly own and operate the Fauntleroy Schoolhouse, an architectural gem housing local enterprises and community initiatives. This historical haven boasts steadfast long-term tenants and inviting communal spaces, all bolstered by an unwavering Board of Directors.
The Role: We’re on the hunt for a fearless Executive Director, ready to embrace a fast-paced, multi-faceted position that stands at the forefront of childcare innovation. Your mission? Champion the cause of superior childcare, not just within our walls but as a beacon for the industry. With a storied legacy in West Seattle, our organization is brimming with enthusiasm for the future, and you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the next chapter for both the childcare center and the cherished Schoolhouse.Responsibilities:
-Oversee the day-to-day operations of our childcare center and Schoolhouse sanctuary.
-Lead a remarkable team of 40, including educators, support staff, and administrators, breathing life into our mission.
-Develop and sustain dynamic, age-tailored programs that meet stringent accreditation and regulatory standards.
-Cultivate a harmonious, all-embracing atmosphere where staff, families, and children from diverse backgrounds can flourish.
-Administer a robust $2.4 million annual budget for FCC and FCSA, keeping the Board in the loop with monthly financial insights.
-Manage payroll, benefits, and workplace policies, ensuring harmony with ever-evolving regulations.
-Foster a community mindset with enrolled families, program participants, tenants, and community stakeholders.
-Unite with community volunteers to bring inspiring programs and services aligned with our goals and missions.
-Serve as a non-voting member of the FCC and FCSA boards and committees – in conjunction with the Board President, prepare agendas, communicate and coordinate with board members to determine strategic direction and policiesQualifications:
-5+ years of experience in childcare services, including at least one year of center management and administration
-Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field and meets Washington State’s minimum qualifications with three years of experience in childcare center program administration. Experience may be substituted for education
-Strategic thinker who is able to formulate and articulate a vision for the future and generate passion to make it happen
-Positive, high energy team player with the ability to manage multiple elements all the time – children, staff, accreditors, parents, tenants, and a 100+ year old building!
-A natural talent for cultivating robust relationships both internally and throughout our vibrant community.In addition, these extras would make you a standout candidate:
