EmmyJaneParticipantI took my dog to the street fair a couple years ago and she threw up all over the street in front of Cupcake Royale. She is now banned from attending the street fair due to inappropriate behavior.

JoBParticipantYou might think the street fair great fun…
your dog would prefer the local park where there might be a critter to chase or it’s usual walk where other dogs have left them not so sanitary messages..
I measure the dog appreciation level of our walks by the number and variety of places they have chosen to pee.
people get so.. pissy.. when they pee on them… no matter how many dogs have gotten there first ;0
air conditioned comfort however… is not something my dogs will turn down… so instead of heading to the festival, i will be off with the dogs in the air conditioned rolling kennel…
it just got new brakes and had the cooling system fixed.
TEST DRIVE !!!!!!
almost as good as road trip if i throw in a stop by Zippy’s:)

KimberleyParticipantIf only all dog lovers could be as considerate as those that appear to post here, rather than the uppity my dog’s s#%t doesn’t stink kind that I see carting their dogs around bartell, safeway, zatz (one woman snuck in the back door to use the bathroom with her dog on Tuesday after she tied her dog out front to go inside to make a purchase) and myriad other places where it’s not appropriate to take a dog that is not a service animal.

ErikParticipantMy dog is gonna be home alone drinking beer and sleeping on the couch while I’ll be up in front of Cupcake Royale later this afternoon working at the West Seattle Wellness tent.
Come on by tonight between 6 and 8 with dog or not and say “hi.”

CountingCoupMemberI find this thread about a ridiculous as the Mary Kay Letourneau thread a month ago.
If you really believe in something strong enough to make a statement across a public board, have the guts to follow up face to face in person.
I find making statements like “leave your dog home” is cowardly, if you see an owner with a dog, go tell them to take their dog home…
Amazing…
You never know, you might be asking me to take mine home, I guess I could us a good laugh at your expense :-)

LeroniusmonkfishMemberI agree…leave the dogs in the car. Of course keep the car running with the a/c on.

TwistedSistersMemberHaving experienced the seriousness of major dog bites from a ‘well behaved’ dog I understand the concerns of this thread. My concern today would be more with the heat and hydration problems. Take care of your pets.

JoBParticipanttwisted sister..
i have to agree…
children shouldn’t be at the street fair in the heat of the day either.. for the same reasons…
this isn’t a rights issue.. it’s a common sense issue…
if you need to take kids or dogs someplace today.. it should be someplace shady with lots of water….
not a bad idea for little old ladies either :>
