ok…got a question…I automatically got a dish when I signed up with DirecTv, no extra cost, as it’s an essential part of the service. Do people just leave them when they move?I always figured I’d have to give it back at some point…landlord wouldn’t take kindly to having it just left if I moved. I had no idea that they are so pricey.

JanS, when I turned my dish in, all they wanted back was the “lens” (the part on the arm facing the dish) which is about the size of a fist. The rest is not worth the money to ship it back. My guess is its the tripod that is worth the money.

You got yours for free? =( I had to pay all that money for mine well this bites. When I moved since I dont have the right exposure they couldn’t set up service so when I cancelled all they wanted was the rcvrs back and they told me the dish is yours you paid for it. So basically it’s worth nothing? =(

it is still possible someone will want to pay for a dish, lens, tripod and wiring harness.

all i had was a dish and lens and i delivered it to a friend today.. so mine is no longer decorating the patio:))
