JoBParticipantFullTilt…
LOL… i think there are a lot of outdoor wannabees running around in eddie bauer or REI clothing that look as though they could find themselves in a kayak but who wouldn’t risk their expensive outdoor clothing that way:) not to mention their expensive haircuts.. and…
i bet you were cute in dreads.. but unwashed? please tell me you were living on a boat without a shower at the time:)

FullTiltParticipantNot a Panic fan. Don’t dislike em, just never ever spent any time listening to them. I hear they put on a good live show.
Oh and that post about having dreads and going to Evergreen, that was Ms Full Tilt. That makes the sorority girl quote a little less creepy now doesn’t it.

JoBParticipantFull Tilt…
the idea of pic of mrs Full tilt in dreads has sparked an idea for a fun social/fund raising idea having to do with a contest to identify the largest number of current WSB posters.. or anyone else brave enough to volunteer… by their “childhood” pics….
hehehe…
that could be an entertaining evening… especially if you add in the sugar rush from ice cream and the buzz from beer:)
we could make it a costume event and we could all come as dead heads: ;~>

FullTiltParticipantWhen I cut off the dreads my friend wanted them so he could be me for halloween. I don’t think it ever panned out…but I was bathing regularly, my hair just knots up easily…

TheHouseMemberBDG, I’m somewhat a Panic fan (I’ve seen them 3 times). I hail from their hometown and my wife is a bona fide fan!

anonymeParticipantFullTilt, I’m from Ann Arbor. How long ago were you there? I was even married to a local musician in the 70’s. We used to hang with Iggy, Alice, Bob Seger, MC5, Joe Walsh, etc. We MUST compare notes sometime…

FullTiltParticipantHey anonyme,
I grew up in Birmingham, MI and hung out in A2 during high school. I moved there for college in 1993. I was there on and off until the end of 1997. I did live with a crazy psychopath who was obsessed with Wayne Kramer and ran punk shows in our basement. My friends lived in what is now known as the Iggy Pop Wax Museum…the house was a co-op, but apparently was once the home of the MC5 and the White Panther Party…
…and randomly enough, I once almost got a job at the Stucchi’s ice cream factory.

anonymeParticipantI can’t remember if the White Panthers were related to the Rainbow People’s Party. The RPP was anything but a peace-loving, benevolent group. I remember Wayne, and I also hung around with the late Fred Smith, who later married Patti Smith. Kathy Asheton (sister of Ron & Scott Asheton of the Stooges) was my best friend in A2. Obviously you’re a lot younger than I am, but it sounds as if the Michigan legends live on…
I actually grew up in East Detroit and went to Grosse Pointe High before moving to Ann Arbor. I was in high school during the 60’s race riots. We’d skipped school and dropped acid that day; couldn’t figure out why there wasn’t a soul on the streets until we turned on the car radio and heard martial law had been declared. BTW, our acid way back then came straight from the personal lab of Dr. Timothy Leary. You can’t get it like that any more – not that I’d want to.
I’d better shut up now before I get in trouble…
One last question: did you ever have a Fragel?
