OK, so Chicago has been doing Charters in a big way for a short while now. They’re not finding any differentiators in terms of performance (essentially on par at best) with current Public Schools.

I get that it’s early and the sample size is still smallish but this trend shows up pretty much anyplace where Charters are running – at least that I’ve seen.
It’s starting to look pretty obvious that this was just another way to suck public $ out of the system and put it into for-profit entities. It also has the inherent “benefit” of destabilizing teacher’s unions and the public school system in general.
You don’t need to follow the test scores to follow the money.
