I just moved to the Hamilton Park area (North end of California Ave) and am getting terrible coverage from my ATT cell phone. I’ll go from 4 bars to no coverage twice in 10 minutes. It makes it almost impossible to use the phone.

Does anyone live in the area, and have the same problem? Does it happen on other carriers? Is there a solution? I contemplate getting a booster or switching providers, but I want to know the problem will get solved by the change.

    Thanks!

Same area. Same probem with AT&T. They recently gave me a free microcell for coverage at home.

AT&T here too and same ‘hood.

What I found is happening is that my phone oscillates between picking up the weak signal from the Bainbridge Island tower and the stronger closest Seattle tower.

Occasionally when I plot out driving directions with the map app on my phone it puts my starting location on Bainbridge. Derrrr.

I have ATT too, and going down Admiral way I loose it over that bridge and around that assisted living place on California.

I have reported but so far nothing as been done, other wise I have no issues else where in the West Seattle area.

I talked to AT&T, but they just logged my complaint. They said they might sell me an microcell, but paying an extra $200 to make the phone work seems silly.

Verizon used to have an issue through that area too but we have two Verizon phones and they are fine. Our AT&T iPhone, meantime, drops out not just there but also straight down the hill to the north along the Duwamish Head section of Harbor/Alki.

AT&T cell signal has gotten worse here at highpoint in the last couple of months. I suspect a tower is out or not functioning as it was.

My closest tower was at fairmont a few years ago before the merger…

Funny, that one gets to me too. Or maybe some people lose coverage on Admiral and others just open the door and let the coverage loose…

    .

But… I just switched to Verizon from Sprint and coverage in a different part of West Sea improoved ( :) ) immensely. Haven’t tested it on Admiral, though.

I don’t mean to hijack, but on the WS coverage issue, my calls drop when I’m eastbound heading onto the WS Bridge, just past the overpass and around the bend. I can’t keep my calls there! Funny enough on the way back into West Seattle at the same place my calls stay intact. Maybe the peninsula is punishing me for leaving. I’m on T-Mobile.

We’re in North Admiral as well. We had to log a certain amount of service calls/complaints with SPRINT and they “let” us purchase a contraption that hooks up to our computer and we now have service. I’ve had AT&T, Verizon and another one I cannot think of through out my 10+ years in the area…..it’s a weird area for cell service. It’s right on the edge of the GREAT and NO Service area.

Yep, got AT&T and they suck in the Admiral area. Fine in the house, calls drop when walking through front yard. Also drop by the overlook on Admiral. There is a cell tower on the uphill lanes on Admiral but it can not be AT&T or else we’d be so much better off. Wish we could switch to Verizon but company phones. Still, it’s 2011 for crying out loud, can’t they make better coverages?!
