JayDeeParticipantNow I find out that Christmas lights are recyclable…after my Monday trash p/u. Oh well, I am sure some of the strings that are left will fail next year. The weird thing was, 3 out of 4 of the burned out lights were new white LEDs from McLendon’s. Thanks MargL for the information anyway–next year.

rudyMemberFYI: McLendon’s is no longer taking them. I tried to leave them there this morning. Yesterday was the last day that they were accepting them. Since trees are still getting picked up by the city all week it would have been nice to have the program coincide with the tree pick up schedule. My tree was picked up this morning, hence the lights came off it last night – one strand died on us so I had just one to recycle. I’ll have to find the original post about this to see if it is worth the time to drop them off elsewhere…..

JEMParticipantI wish the tree pick-up went one more week. I neglected to get mine out this morning and then saw that they are done with pick-up on the 10th. Oh well, I guess I’m making the trip to recycling center. I also have a brand new set of LED icicle lights from McLendon’s that are on the fritz. A section of them is on sometimes, off sometimes, and faintly lit other times. I thought LED would last “forever” (meaning more than 3 weeks at least) bah humbug, maybe I’ll not bother anymore.

kellymParticipantWarning —- this is intended as a joke…
but maybe we can get some meth heads to steal a large container of burned out lights from an alley for the metal wire :)
