odrokuParticipantNot sure how much more I’ll have to hear of the ridiculously loud and intrusive sound systems driving my my house setting off car alarms and waking up the baby before I start sitting in my car, following the jackasses home and busting their car windows to get to the equipment I’ll then burn with a gasoline-fuelled fire, but I do know it’s not a lot more. I anticipate the warm weather to increase the volume of the offenders, putting me into action.

cjboffoliParticipantodruku: This drives me crazy too. It is totally illegal but never seems to get enforced. I sometimes wonder if it is a lot of different drivers or just a few who happen to use the same route.

ErikParticipantBack when I lived in South Park the rolling boom boxes usually played south-of-the-border polka music. I think it was a circuit they slowly drove. Over and over.
Always put me in the mood for a tequila shot.

wundrgrrrlParticipantBooming Car Stereo Vigilante… You’re one of us. Living by the beach, frustrated to no end. Head aching, fist waving, cursing under your breath, elevating your blood pressure. Willing to follow those loud throbbing bouncing vehicles to their own domain and do serious damage in the name of neighborhood civility. Reclaim your beach and you ~ YOU ~ Vigilante, will be the hero of Alki! (NW Profile #87)

anonymeParticipantA friend of mine used to live in an apartment next to some tenants who watched their television at such high volume that it vibrated the walls. They also left it on about 20 hrs. per day, even when they weren’t home. Attempts to talk to this neighbor were met with extreme attitude – not surprising.
Anyway, my friend did science programs for kids, and owned a Tesla coil. When the coil was turned on and aimed at the wall, it would zap the television in the next room. I wonder if something similar could be rigged up for the boom box junkies? Kind of like a boom box death ray?

JulieMemberI just noticed a book relevant to this discussion, and posted about it in the thread I began about noisy yard care companies:

JulieMemberNow, JoB, surely you wouldn’t recommend turning a hose on the leaf-blowers? :)
July 2, 2010 at 7:51 pm #698135
JoBParticipantOnly if they are operating said leaf blower on your property…
any water spilling onto public streets would be strictly accidental ;->
