Nicole und EricMemberAt 4:30ish today I was bit by a dog behind Next To Nature. The lady (in her 40’s or 50’s) had another dog with her that was blondish; I cannot remember what the Caucasian lady looked like nor her dog that bit me. I was in such shock I did not get her information and now my hand is swelling and I do not have insurance. I do not want to sue nor do I wish the dog harm, I just want to be able to go to the doctor. If you have any information or if you are the dog’s master, please contact me. Thanks, Eric

JanSParticipantEric. there is an after hours urgent care place near the emergency room at Swedish Hospital Cherry Hill Campus. It’s run by Country Doctor Clinic, and they operate on a sliding scale. The ER is on 16th just south of Cherry St., east side of the street, entrance right next to the parking lot there. I think they’re open until 10pm. Don’t let this slide…

4th of EightParticipantCould it be possible that the Next To Nature folks would know who this woman and her dogs are by the partial description? She might’ve just come out of there and be a client.

Nicole und EricMemberThanks for you suggestions. I asked Next To Nature if they knew who the lady was after this happened to me but got no response from staff or management. I will certainly follow up with them tomorrow. The lady headed North in the alley behind NTN afterwards the dog bit me. I’m hoping a friend of hers or somebody who knows her can mention what I typed here in the forum. I will not sue or call Animal Control, I mostly want to know if I NEED shots because the dog has not had its shots. Thanks again!

FionaEnzoParticipantAwful thing to happen. I would suspect that if the owner is shopping at NTN (higher-end store) for dog things, dogs probably have all their shots. Very sorry to hear this — terrible owner. Please do get checked by country doctor emergency care for infection if skin broken. Sounds like a bad bite.

herongrrrlParticipantEric, please take JanS’s advice, tomorrow if the clinic is closed tonight. Even if the dog has had all it shots, a skin-piercing bite can cause a very serious infection of the sort that over-the-counter antibiotic cream isn’t enough for.
I hope you find the dog’s owner and they do the right thing, but please don’t wait for that to seek appropriate treatment.

JanSParticipantthey’re open at noon on Saturday…

Nicole und EricMemberThanks to everybody for your concern and suggestions. The lady who is the master of the dog who bit me stopped by the shop I work at yesterday and we are currently sorting things out.

hammerheadParticipant@Nicole NO will NOT NEED A RABIES shot.

trickycooljParticipantMake sure to get a tetanus shot. I didn’t realize they were necessary for animal bites until a relative got a nasty bite from his daughters’ rabbits.

Seattle TrashMemberEric- So sorry to hear about the bite! I just wanted to commend your approach to this situation, and happy that you were able to connect with the woman. Good to see it being sorted out.
