I’m in the process of researching home security companies. I was pretty impressed with the Protection One sales rep but I’d like to learn more about the actual customer experience with the company. Also interested in hearing recomendations for other home security companies.

My home security company eats pedigree at a rate of about 50 lbs every two weeks.

Just for your info, I listened in on a few pitches for ADT when new people were moving into the town houses in Highpoint.

That is one terrifying place those people were moving into.

I wonder when it happened? I have been here across the street for 7 years and it looks nothing at all like the scary place the ADT salesman was describing.

Btw: never get a Husky for a watch dog. They are worthless. Mine never met a stranger but will guard a squeaky toy all day. The lab and the lab mix have to do all the watchdogin that happens around here.

Ken, i am glad to hear that highpoint is not as scary as it sounds. i am intrigued at what will definately be one of the places we look at when we get around to buying… not for a quite while yet:)

I also saw a place in White center that looked like a “similar” attempt at community.. though not at ecology. It was at the top of the hill just south of Roxbury. What’s up with that? They actually had signs up for small businesses along one street tho i didn’t see much evidence of businesses yet.

As for home security… i haven’t experienced one here.. but we did ADT at one time and I wasn’t so impressed. We had more false alarms with animals and forgetful people than we had actual protection.. We haven’t chosen to do it again.

I am told that signs and false sensors are enough to do the real job:) and those i have used:)

Really none of us should discuss what we do or do not have for security whether it be active or passive. Not in this public place.

Though I will say I have a video camera running from an old DVR experiment from a couple of years ago. I have not looked at it in months but I am going to re-point the camera to cover the door instead of the dogs :)

ken, the fellow i rent from really believed in security… so where i live is well covered.

And of course, if i am in it.. i have those little savage dogs… sometimes their behavior is a plus:)

However, you are right, we shouldn’t post our personal security systems or lack thereof in such a public place.

    thanks for the reminder.
