bsmommaParticipantI have tried to sign up at the YMCA but unfortunately haven’t been able to find parking the last 3 times I’ve tried……which is exactly why we cancelled our membership to begin with. :( So now, I am looking for something somewhere else. Any recomendations?
Thanks!

luckymom30ParticipantWhat about the SW Community Center there number is 684-7440, our daughter has been going swimming there for years and will now be joining the swim team.

MargLMemberI’ve heard the tot lessons at the SW Community pool are pretty good http://www.cityofseattle.net/parks/aquatics/swpool.htm
Shouldn’t be a problem with parking there – they have a HUGE lot.

ws4everMemberSW Community pool: Great tot lessons, many happy parents there to observe, swim teachers aware of safety, patient and positive, and small class size for littlest ones.

WSMomParticipantArbor Heights Swim and Tennis club offer lessons to non-members all summer. I have found their lessons to be excellent, and much easier to get into. Plus, it’s nice to be outside in the warm summer sunshine (fingers crossed) :)!

addParticipantDitto on SW Community Center and Arbor Heights Swim Club. Another option is Safe n Sound Swimming. It’s on Lake Union so a bit of a hike but they do 1:1 lessons for 15 minutes (which is actually just the right time for a little one, and much more intensive than a half hour with 5-6 other kids). We took our kids there when they were little and were impressed with the instructors. Plus, the kids can frolic a little in a small roped off section of the pool before/after their lesson.

IrukandjiParticipantWe finally gave up on West Seattle options and signed up at Safe ‘n’ Sound Swimming. Lessons are 1-on-1 for 15-minute segments. We usually book 30 minutes of lesson time. They also have three ‘family swim’ times per week. It’s a trek to China Harbor on Westlake, but at non-rush times takes us about 18-22 minutes. TOTALLY worth it.

QueMemberWe strongly considered Safe n’ Sound, but it is a very expensive choice, and kind of a haul to get to. I have been extremely happy with the quality of instruction that my daughter has gotten at SW Community Center and especially for the younger ages, they are careful to keep the teacher:student ratio really low. So, she would often be getting nearly individual instruction when she was smaller, for better proximity and a fraction of the cost of Safe n’ Sound.
