Depending on the school, the Kindergarten teachers usually are required to wait with the kids and I really don’t think 10 minutes is asking too much. My experience (12 years) also tells me that 3:25 dismissal is much closer to 3:35 dismissal than 3:25! However, it really doesn’t give you much time for those “life happens” events that will surely cause you delay at some point over 9 months. Soon enough after the first day (or prior – you’re already starting!) you will find out what your classmates are doing after school and will find a way to make it work. YOU may be someone else’s answer to their problem because 3:35 is pretty much there on time! The other thing my experience tells me is that somehow it does all work out – it’s not always first choice, and sometimes you have to try a couple things before you get it right, but it will be okay. I know I haven’t really offered a solution but hope my words can add to your gathering of info.
