While we’re mentioning all the great auction items, such as the doggie spa/pet care basket from Furry Faces Foundation, and all the fun we’re going to have, like the Mike Stahl Trivia Challenge, we should ALSO mention that we’re going to ask people to pay mainly with cash or checks.

Our own DBP will be on hand to do some PayPal transactions, but we’re trying to limit the amount of fees that will cost. Thank you!

♫ Does anybody really care? ♪

—I don’t, personally. But some people do. And those people might just need themselves a new watch some time or other, don’t you think?

Like this new watch that was donated to Mike’s auction by a sweet little ole Rottweiler with an old-fashioned name . . .

It’s a Skagen Twisted Topring Mesh Strap Watch

Pssst! This baby retails for $135. But I can get it for you wholesale.

Last night Hubby and I had the pleasure of meeting Mike and David and let me tell you, they are working hard for this auction! I sent David an e-mail that we had a Seattle Supersonics Championship collector’s mug that we wanted to donate and within 5 minutes David had called me and half an hour later they were at the house. Now that’s great service!

Mother’s Day is May 13. Oh sure, that seems far away NOW, but you know it will be here in a flash and you will once again be caught without a special gift of appreciation for the woman who birthed and raised you.

This auction has many handmade and unique items that would make very special Mother’s Day gifts: Hand-knit hats, jewelry, massage gift certificates (because Mom’s still putting up with your antics to this day) nature photos, plant sale gift certificates, and lots more for cool moms.

Come by and get something for mom that says “I Love You” without having to actually say it out loud.

Thanks for your donation of the Sonics mug, LStephens!

When David told me that someone here on WS had a Sonics mug they wanted to donate, I said “Howard Schultz lives over here in West Seattle?”

It was definitely much more of a pleasure meeting “L” and Mr. “S”, than it would have been meeting Howie! ;-)

Staying on TVB’s theme; folks, is Mom the hugest, die-hard Sonics fan, that never uttered a cuss word in her life, until the Team was sold to OKC, and she hasn’t stopped cussing like a truck driving sailor since? This Sonics mug be be the perfect catchment system, for those tears she’s continuing to shed!

Unfortunately I cannot attend this Sunday event. It looks like a LOT of Fun! I would like to make a cash donation. Would you prefer I drop-off an envelope at the venue beforehand or donate another way? What is the preferred way for me to donate? Thanks & Good Luck!

casaboba: We’ll miss having you at the event, but thank you so much for supporting Mike! You have a couple of options: you can certainly come by during the event and drop off a donation there, or you can visit the Umpqua Bank branch on California Ave (near the new Safeway) and donate to the “Hand Up For Mike” fund there. Thanks again!

This event is TOMORROW!!! Feedback Lounge, 1-4pm.

Donors keep giving us wonderful items for the auction! In fact, we have to split the auction tables and close them at different times because there are so many wonderful things!

A shout-out to local businesses Meander’s, Avalon Glassworks, Russell’s Jewelers, and RockSport for their recent donations!

    Thanks everyone!!

    Speaking of Meanders..

I placed the high bid on a private dinner for 10 at Meanders at Jan’s kidney fundraiser..

I consulted with Miranda at Meanders and we decided to make double the use of that certificate by offering seats at the table at Mike’s fundraiser..

I had planned this big “dinner with Mike” for Monday April 16, until i realized that April 16 is tax day:(

So.. we bumped it a week..

We will be offering 7 seats at Meanders for a chef’s surprise dinner on Monday April 23 at 7 PM to the highest 7 bidders… at Mikels fundraiser this Sunday at the Feedback…

Why only 7 seats if dinner was for 10?

Well, Mike (miws) and Jan (JanS) and I (JoB) get seats at the table..

Jan and Mike because they make this dinner special..

and me.. because i will be picking up the tip ;->

Miranda is an accomplished cook who beamed at the idea that i would turn the menu over to her..

Imagine the food… imagine the conversation… imagine yourself placing a winning bid on one of the seats ;)

I can’t wait to see who gets the seats.

what if you can’t be there to bid?

I am willing to act as a bidding agent for those who can’t be there but want to place a bid…

to be a remote bidder.. contact me to arrange details today at joanne@brayden.org

No offense . I’ll explain about Jean the knitting lady. Jean isn’t on the Blog as yet. I’ve been trying to convince her but at this time she’s having computer problems of some sort. I know she’s knitted for a Cancer group and for West Side Baby and for many private parties. It’s not the easiest for her as she’s long time Ms patient. Hopefully I can get her to the Fundraiser for Mike. She met him at the Pancake Breakfst. Any who knit are a blessing, including you.
