All is good and fun until an aggressive dog decides to attack either your dog or both of you. Sounds funny, but I have seen this happen and have been the recipient of a “good off leash dog” running at me while I’m about ready to drop dead from a heart attack in fear. I am a woman in my 30s who abides by city laws and walks my dog ON LEASH alone, but have been scared to death a few times by dogs coming at us full speed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE people, keep your dogs on leashes. If you don’t, don’t get angry at my LEASHED dog when it bites your dog for scaring him as well.
“Fines for off-leash, license and scooping violations range from $50 to $150, and can be $500 at a beach. Please obey the law!”
excellent, JoB. Kepp me posted. I’ll be without net for a week though during move. Will try to visit Hotwire to check. This is of UTMOST importance. :)
I am pretty sure announcers do not need licenses…based on the announcers :)
Tracy,
My friend heard the interview and was raving about you and the blog. Congrats! She was congratulating us on moving to the coolest place in Seattle and said she could see why we wanted to move over after listening to the interview. Wish I’d heard it.
Love the blog. Great work!
Best,

Hey I thought this was NEXT weekend. :( We’re still moving this weekend…
Thank you to the guy in the green convertable who helped escort a blind woman out of the middle of traffic. She was lost (obviously) trying to get to a church in the 4100 block of California. Stroller kid and I were able to get her headed in the right direction at Admiral & Calif. where she could transfer onto an appropriate bus (though she threatened to hitchhike – she was late to Bible Study!)
We got away from the intersection just before the bank incident.
Aaronsk, according to their website, the one off Delridge is also called the Triangle Pub: http://www.macstrianglepub.com/pub/
Our plan is to be able to have shakes starting on the 4th of July! That is, if all goes as planned. We’re just waiting on the freezers.
Even better: we’re working with FULL TILT to see if they can provide us the ice cream!!!
We’ll be open on the 4th from 10:30 am – 4:00 pm and as requested by many neighbors, we’ll be serving hot links with your burgers.
As a member of Community harvest of SW seattle, i can tell you that we would be very interested in harvesting your excess fruits this year. you can fill out a form on http://gleanit.org and you will be contacted regarding the specifics. We can take the extra you have picked, help you pick or pick if you can not. Last year’s recipients (the foodbanks, shelters, missions, senior centers, etc) really appreciated the fresh fruit, and this year there seems to be more need. on our website, there is also opportunities to donate extra garden produce through some local churches. check our website under the “Projects” tab.
I live in West Seattle and have been caring for my neighbors kids for the past 3 years. They are now moving on to preschool and I am looking for another little one (or two) to look after. I have 2 kids myself (9 & 5). I would need to be able to pick them up and drop them off at school. It would also be great to be able to get out and enjoy some kid activities during the day. Please give me a call if you are interested or have ay questions. I am available as soon as you might need it!!! Thanks!!

That’s not an answerable question. Our government has refused to disclose what they are negotiating. Or that we even were negotiating continued occupation, for that matter. Much to the dismay of congress I might add. They weren’t too happy with being kept out of the loop either. It was the Iraqi government that made this exchange public.
I’m assuming you mean the Triangle Tavern on Delridge and not the Triangle Pub, which is by Safeco Field :)
No. No suggestion at all. But I believe that you were actually suggesting we go by what the Iraqis are “claiming”.
Asking an honest question here because I’m pretty sure you are a lot better at research than I am, what IS our Government saying? What is our stance and reason for remaining there?
Hmmm….I love the fact that the pool is cooler than most! Most city pools are too warm if you are in for a long swim.
I am not a ‘gym person’…in fact, I generally hate them. Allstar is the first gym I have actually enjoyed. The pool isn’t crowded which I really appreciate as circle swimming with 3-4 others is NOT fun. The equipment is always available. The daycare staff are sweet to our baby. The cleaning staff are always friendly and replenshing towels and wiping things down.
The classes all seem fun, though I have only gone to spinning classes. Most of the spin instructors are great (Jeoff, Stacy, Laura & Ed are fabulous!). Well, all are good with the exception of 1 or 2 who I’ll leave nameless that are pretty snarky, pissy, and punitive. But there are so many classes it is fairly easy to avoid them!
One thing I don’t like is where the membership coordinators sit—when entering the women’s locker room you feel like you are being watched/observed/checked out/judged etc. I wish it was blocked off in some way.
I like it there!

How about Ohanapecosh Park in Rainier National Park system. I’ve not camped there, but I’ve been through there on day trips/hikes on the mountain. Great place!
Bayou, I would hold off on cutting back the trees until next February unless there are low hanging branches in the way. Even doing some trimming now will draw attention away from the growing fruit; so best to wait if you can.
You’re suggesting we can go by that?
JT – You state what the Iraqis claim…. what does our Government claim?
I am the owner of a small in home daycare in West Seattle (Fauntleroy) Currently we have an opening for a toddler and one infant. Please check out my website and email me for more info.

We’ll be there! We’d bring the bike for the picture outside of Full Tilt, but it seems really silly to ride it two blocks!
Manchester State Park is great. You take the Southworth ferry and it’s north a bit. Great view, beach, hiking. We haven’t camped there for a number of years but just went to visit there last Sunday.
In parks, on Alki or in the Junction I leash my dog consistently. There’s just too many people around; too many interesting smells and other attractions. Besides, she thinks that everyone is there to greet her… and of course that isn’t so!
The city plays with the cameras sometime and you might get a weird pic like that. Later in the morning, I believe they adjusted the shot while the chase was under way between the Admiral/California bank robbery and downtown shooting (continuous coverage on home page) – TR
