Hoping to find a regular handyman for a series of projects around the house. It has to be someone who’s comfortable working along me and my hubby. First needs are next week on Thursday and Friday, the 19th and 20th – helping hubby move furniture downstairs (dressers, nightstands, mattress, and bed) and then starting demo of our upstairs (large bedroom, small bedroom, hall, tiny bathroom, partial chimney stack). Once we find the right person, there will be many other days of work as the house is going to be a nearly total gut job, broken up into phases and then built back again. Hubby can handle the electrical, but we’d love a hand with framing, drywall, and many other things.

This house is from 1917. Who knows what we’ll find when we tear it apart? There’s no insulation in the walls, some old knob and tube upstairs, literally no idea what else we’ll find.

We value knowledge, flexibility, and patience.

Please email me to reply: shopattack@pm.me – Thanks! Christy

    Hi Carrington,
Excited to see this posting! I sent a reply on your website but let me know if there is a better way to continue the conversation.
I have some experience and skills that I think could really support this role such as Project Management, Marketing Operations, service industry, and self employment as an Art Therapist. Would love to grow with your team and dial in systems that truly support your needs. I appreciate the time it takes to review replies like mine, and hope you will consider me a candidate

    Warmly,
    RJ Loch

Loud, humming noise coming from Fauntleroy at West Seattle bridge. What is that noise? It is loud, hums for a long time, then stops, then starts again. Trying to sleep is difficult. Does anyone know what it is?

    Hello, Carrington Moore and Team,

My name is Aranza, and I am an aspiring artist with an understanding of multiple painting mediums. My background lies in the biotech and medical field; however, I recently made the decision to fully commit to my passion for art. Through my previous roles, I gained experience coordinating across cross-functional teams, shipping sensitive materials via FedEx, doing data entry, and managing/ tracking inventory. I would love to be considered for this position as I am excited and eager to learn about everything in the art industry, especially as it pertains to independent artists and studios. I can be contacted anytime at aranzahr@outlook.com.
    Thank you!

My neighbor was shouldered after getting off the bus on at the delridge station. The perpetrator walked towards him in a purposefully diagonal route, proceeded to shoulder him, stunning him. At least a younger teen called out the perpetrator as he fled onto the bus.

Based on recent social media posts, shouldering assaults have occurred in Japan to young women not aware of their surroundings (distracted by their phone), allegedly by disgruntled men usually in crowded areas where the perpetrators can easily flee afterwards.

Lately, there seems to be more panhandlers throughout west seattle junctions. It’s concerning that petty crimes may occurring more often in west seattle.

Please be aware and be safe.

For a group of 12 celebrating a birthday, a stretch limo is a great choice to keep everyone together and enjoy the ride. It’s important to confirm the vehicle’s capacity, amenities, and booking flexibility. Many people in Seattle recommend checking services like Seattle Black Limo Service for reliable vehicles and professional chauffeurs for special events.

I used A Better Roofing when I moved into my house, at 17 years it seems like my supposedly 30 year roof might be failing. I haven’t ruled out using them again yet, depends on what they say when I get them out here to look. But I do want to get an additional bid or two. Would you recommened your roof company? And if so, who are they?

Hey, Kent here with the 4040 House light show team. I am looking for occasional help with our light show. I currently need help organizing and storing the light show in our new storage container. I estimate a couple of sunny weekend days for a total of 8 hours right now. It might be a great opportunity for a teen to earn some cash and learn about the light show. I will pay cash at the end of each day, and I am offering $25/hour. If we hit it off, I would like to be able to call upon you for additional help, especially when we get to setting up in mid-September. Contact me at kent.stroker@gmail.com for consideration.

    Dear Carrington,
I recently moved to West Seattle and looking for art related work. I am a jewelry and woodworking artist and small (1 person) business owner. I understand and appreciate tracking, packing, and multi-tasking to ship inventory to customers. I am highly organized, dependable, flexible and easy to work with. I am accustomed to electronic organization of inventory (supply, customer communications, etc) and care of quality and appearance with shipping. Plus management of shipping supplies, financial receipts, and mindfulness of brand reputation. I use social media accounts to advertise and sell my inventory, in addition to customer engagement. My small business interests would not conflict with your studio needs at all. I am well accustomed to computer data entry, plus able to physically package and ship orders. Please let me know if my reply is of interest to you. My contact information was sent via your website.

This role is ideal for someone who loves creating structure behind the scenes and wants to be involved in the inner workings of a working artist’s studio.

    What We’re Looking For

    A deep interest in art

    Strong organizational instincts

Comfort with physical activity (lifting, moving artwork, packing materials)

Someone excited about building systems and improving workflows

    Perks

    $25/hour

Access to a private studio space that’s currently being designed — you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to shaping the environment

A chance to grow with a studio that’s expanding and see how a small art business is managed

    Location

Planning a 1st birthday is exciting, but the entertainment quotes around West Seattle can definitely add up fast. A good option to check out is Wowzers. They’re a local Seattle-based party entertainment company that offers face painting along with other kids’ party services, and their rates are generally more reasonable compared to some of the premium event vendors in the area.

What stands out is that they’re used to working birthday parties specifically (not just big corporate events), so they can usually tailor the time and package to fit a smaller gathering. For a first birthday, simple, colorful designs for toddlers and older siblings tend to be perfect and quicker, which helps keep costs down while still giving kids something fun and memorable.

It may be worth reaching out to see if they have availability for October 21 and asking about a 2-hour setup for a backyard-style party in West Seattle. Sometimes booking directly and explaining the size of the party can help get a more budget-friendly option.

While I had my Dodge truck I used Tom’s Automotive. They weren’t real cheap but fixed any issues I had when I brought it in and were on time and most importantly I never had to take it back as work was done right the first time.
