I am so tired of sitting in a long line of traffic (usually northbound on 35th in the morning), just to have someone run up along side us and cut the line just before the entrance the bridge. Would you do this at the grocery store? Would you do it at the movie theater? Why is it OK for you to do it when you’re in your car? Be considerate of the rest of us, please!

Im opening up a dog training studio in the Morgan Junction. I need a mini fridge in order to store our diabetic alert and epilepsy alert training samples (they have to be refrigerated). Anyone got an extra one lying around the house they dont want? I would prefer a used one because it means one less fridge in the dump.

We will also need a vacuum cleaner in the coming weeks if anyone needs a reason to upgrade their existing one :)

And if anyone has an extra wheelchair they dont need anymore we would love one to help teach our dog students how to pull one.

Id better quit before this turns into a list.

I suppose it could be worse and I could have a cubic yard (3 feet x 3 feet x 3 feet) that’d be a LOT. This would really only fill a 3-foot long shelf 1 foot high by 1 foot deep.

My husband won’t let me touch his collection that’s currently filling a cedar chest and a large shelving unit.

I estimate there’s about 3 cubic feet of records. They’re easily transportable (and currently stored) in 4 liquor/whiskey bottle boxes.

one of the stated purposes of this bill is to allow any retailer with a current license to sell beer and wine to convert that to a liquor license.. that would increase availability.

local municipalities may pass laws restricting hard liquor to behind the counter sales as you suggest… or they may not.

so far.. it doesn’t look like that strategy is keeping cigarettes out of the hands of minors..

but hey.. it might work better with booze.

or it might not.

That beer fueled rage that extended to one man might become a vodka or tequila or whiskey fueled rage that escalates to include several targets.

stats indicate that when you add alcohol… violence increases..

it’s all well and good to say a drink is a drink..

but the likelihood of even responsible drinkers consuming more alcohol in a single event when the alcohol is supplied as hard liquor is so well known that it’s a basic tenant of the hospitality business.

It’s possible this measure wouldn’t sell more hard liquor to more people.. but that is the clear intent.. and the assumption built into revenue projections.

so i have to ask.

Why should the public assume the increased costs and risks associated with increasing liquor outlets so that stores selling alcohol can produce more revenue and individuals who choose to drink can save money and drink better?

We have been loyal to Fat City German Auto Car (near Seattle Center) for years! They are all highly skilled, trained at the factory and very ethical/honest people. We had a computer problem with a passat several years ago and they spent days free of charge trying to figure it out. I also feel like they don’t try to up-sell you on things you don’t really need when you go in for an oil change. As a woman that doesn’t know much about cars I feel like I can always trust them and they weren’t trying to rip me off. Really, I’ve never liked mechanics, until I met the people at Fat City. My husband is meticulous in caring for his cars and was not impressed by WS shops.

Interestingly, there are thousands of images like this all over VN — even in the more communistic North. If you were to judge solely by the number of active churches and temples in VN, you would never believe that religious worship has been persecuted there. (I’m not saying that it hasn’t been persecuted. I’m just saying it’s hard to believe from looking at all the churches and religious symbols.)

I seem to remember couple years back, shortly after forum started, that they made a stab at offering a jobs wanted option; my guess is that was too much work to monitor when way too many try to bend the rules or not even read the rules, and that was before the recession; I’m with JanS, now a job wanted section would be a nightmare for them to monitor

i can’t speak for anyone else.. but i am a reasonably educated woman who didn’t know that the term tea-bagger had any implications other than the tea-bag party until i was informed of some homosexual connotation here.

i still don’t know what that connotation is.. nor am i the least bit interested in finding out. i suspect like other group specific slang it that one will be buried in obscurity long before the political movement that labeled themselves tea-baggers.

when i speak of democratic advertising i am speaking of selling a bill that has more benefit to the health insurance industry than to middle class americans struggling to pay for health care bills as health reform.

smitty and carson, if i recall correctly, the term “teabagging” was actually first used by online gamers. there was a feature in the half-life add-ons that allowed players to squat/hide. when a player would do this over his dead foe’s face, it looked like the – shall we say prurient? – act that has come to be known as teabagging.

i should also point out that teabagging – as used in the prurient form – doesn’t necessarily have to be a homosexual act, and i find your homophobia accusation kind of telling. :)

but to your point, smitty, i agree with carson. (i’m sure that you’re surprised.) this wave of anti-taxation cheerleading is anathema to the spirit of the boston tea party, and the blood of its patriots is actually watering the tree of corporate hegemony.

you’re correct that they foisted the label on themselves unwittingly; partly i don’t want them to forget their embarassing oversight when they chose to pin tea bags to their hat brims. i also don’t like them falsely appropriating the revolution of 1776 or the culpepper minutemen. the colonists who destroyed british east india’s tea in 1773 would be insulted.

furthermore, republicans and conservatives have a long record of pinning insulting and diminutive labels on liberals (e.g. traitor, socialist, communist, appeaser, commiecrat, demon rat, democrat party, hitlery clinton, obama bin laden) and have often regarded us as unamerican, despite the fact that, like them, we speak up for what we believe this country should be and do. we usually take it with good nature and respond as we see fit. so it’s kind of a secret pleasure to watch them scrunch up their faces indignantly when one calls them “teabaggers.”

so, yeah. it’s largely retribution that they’ve earned. what the hell? like i’ve said before, this is blood sport, not a tickle fight. and until they register a viable political party calling themselves the tea party, i will continue to call them teabaggers.

Appreciate the honest answers. My honest reply is that no, I am not one of them, but I do appreciate how they rankle the Left. I personally think they are pulling a “rope-a-dope” (no pun intended) with O’Donnell. With so much media time focused on her in an attempt to tarnish the entire movement – the rest might actually sneak out a victory.

Why is the term considered an “insult”? I have many gay friends (yes, it’s true) and it seems like it would be insulting to them as well, or maybe not. Guess I should just ask.

I’ve been with the Allstate office on California for several years (homeowner’s only). Their rate & coverage are the best I’ve found, although there was a big increase this year. I’ve never spoken to the current agent, but Sonja, the office manager, is nice and very knowledgable. After the rate increase I did some research and Amica seems to be at the top of all customer service ratings. They’re also higher in cost.

I used to manage a medical practice 12 years ago and got a good look at which auto insurance companies actually took care of their clients after an accident. State Farm was one of the worst. In fact, they were routinely slapped with big class action lawsuits for failure to pay on valid claims. It was cheaper for them to pay the fines than to pay the claims – a harbinger of things to come. At the time, Pemco was the best at paying claims, but I don’t have current information.

I use State Farm Brian Schiffer 206-937-7700. I have been with State Farm for 20 years.

I got my license later in life (25) and they were the only one who would take me. I didn’t want to be on my parents policy so I went to a family friend Ted DelBianco an he got me a policy.

After he retired Brent Amacher (?sp) took over his clients and I really didn’t like his customer service.

Then I met Brian and found out he was state farm and liked his personality and asked a few questions and had him transfer my policy to his office. Been really satisfied ever since.

I call them Tea Baggers because they insult those involved with the original Tea Party. The Tea Party was all about “no taxation without representation”. That has nothing to do with the current Tea Bag movement. Everyone has a vote and representation, you might not like it, but you have the same single vote as everyone else. So yes, its a joke, like the Tea Baggers themselves.

I basically did the rinse at Swedish and found out my tetanus is current…I didn’t need the rinse, the wounds are pretty superficial – I just didn’t know that I had a Tetanus shot in the last 5 years (good thing their records are stored electronically – at least mine were). I have no plans to do the rabies shots…since the dog was leashed I really have no worries about rabies.
