Job Title: Full-Time Sales Associate
Job Description: Mountain to Sound Outfitters is a successful, local paddle and snow sports store in West Seattle. We supply quality service, products, and community to the Northwest and beyond. We are currently looking for a full time sales associate with paddling and ski or snowboard experience.
If you have experience in retail sales, love winter sports and paddle sports, the Puget Sound, the Cascades and engaging with customers on a regular basis, this is the position for you!
Daily Duties of Sales Associate:
• Engage with customers to help educate them and purchase equipment for their needs in recreational and touring kayaks, stand up paddleboard, skiing, snowboarding, x/c, backcountry, accessories and clothing.
• Handle money and operate a modern cloud based point of sale system
• Merchandise and organize store inventory and maintain a clean, organized store.
• Organize large shipments of equipment, assist in receiving and unpacking large shipments
Long Term Duties:
• Collaborate with staff at annual events and festivals.
• Assist in store sale promotions and customer outreach.
• Assist in a bi-annual inventory.
Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of experience in retail and/or sales is required, please show this in your resume.
• Self-starter and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated attention to detail and follow through work ethic.
• Passion, interest and/or experience in local paddle and winter sports.
• Ability to work with customers and other staff without discrimination or conflicts.
• Can take instruction well from management and senior staff members.
• Moderate knowledge and/or interest of industry brands and vendors
Compensation:
• 30-40 hours a week
• Hourly wage between $15-$17 depending on experience

Lower School Instructional Assistant for Preschool, Kindergarten, or 1st-3rd Grade Classrooms

Located in the Arbor Heights neighborhood of West Seattle, Westside serves 330 students in preschool through eighth grade. Westside’s Lower School serves 190 students in preschool-4th grade, and is organized into grade level teams comprised of 2 teachers and instructional assistants who collaborate to both implement and design meaningful curriculum.
The role of Lower School Instructional Assistant is to provide support to students in a single classroom throughout the school day. The Instructional Assistant’s day may include leading small groups during literacy or math lessons, working one-on-one with students, and supervising students during recess. It involves supporting a lead teacher to build a community of learners in the classroom who respect and care for one another. Additionally, the Instructional Assistant oversee two sessions per week during our Extended Day Program, which provides morning or afternoon care support for families.
The Lower School Instructional Assistant works collaboratively with his/her classroom teacher and participates in the life of the school, attending some in-service days and school celebrations, and upholds the mission, vision and values of Westside School.
Reports to: Lower School Head
Responsibilities include:
Assists in general supervision in the classroom and performs duties as assigned by the classroom teacher.
Establishes familiarity with the overall program and related resources and materials so that s/he can actively assist in learning activities.
Works with students in small groups, individually, or as a whole class.
Helps to maintain an attractive classroom environment and materials.
Sets annual goals for focus and growth with the Lower School Head.
Shows initiative by asking for assignments that would expand performance and capability, under the direction of the lead teacher and/or Lower School Head.
Performs such tasks and duties as assigned that would be generally within those functions to be expected at a school or as mutually agreeable between the Instructional Assistant and the teachers or Lower School Head.
Supervises the playground/lunchroom as assigned, following established recess rules and discipline, and reporting notable student behaviors.
Participates in two sessions per week of the Extended Day Program.
If qualified, provides short-term substitution in the classroom for absent teacher in emergencies.

Associates or Bachelors Degree preferred.
