Accident occurred at 11:45 AM on February 10th, 2021.
Curvy turn from 1st avenue going southbound towards the 1st Ave So bridge.
Would be great to have a witness but I am not holding my breath.
Sure is a hassle to have to deal with for sure.

Did you order Vanilla Ice Cream, milk, mushrooms and other groceries? They were delivered to me by mistake.

If memory serves me correct if your pickup day is missed because of weather you’ll have to wait for the next week. They won’t charge extra for 2 weeks worth of garbage/recycling.

They have not yet decided. We will of course report when they do. The SPU “still deciding” update is in this (and in our ongoing coverage):

We love our Rinnai installed and serviced by Greenwood. It does occasionally (once a year) stop working and needs to be reset, so check your instruction manual. But if needed Greenwood is very responsive.

I lost my phone somewhere on the west sidewalk of 25th between Findlay and Brandon. Could also be on the north sidewalk of Brandon between 25th and 26th, or the hill in the southern part of Cottage grove park this morning. My husband and daughter were looking everywhere for it and have yet to find it. It’s a its a pink and green case with a picture of my husband and daughters on it. It has precious videos and photos on it so if you find it could you please contact me. Thank you.

My wife drives that route every day and has had a few close calls there but never hit thankfully. What time of day was it, it may jog some peoples memory but of course the torn off bumper should too!
It wasn’t that “Yellow Ryder” truck that did damage to a WSB poster was it? Sorry can’t remember story, think it was under crime a couple days ago.
Good luck with your insurance company.

I’m finding it will be into the middle of next week before someone can come out. I can live without hot water for a few days – I am concerned about the pipes in the Rinnai freezing – does anyone know if this is a valid concern or are they insulated sufficiently to prevent freezing?

    Thanks

Yep the snowiest day of the year and my Rinnai is not working. It worked yesterday just fine. I have checked to ensure the vents are clear of snow and they are. Can you recommend a person or company to service this?

    Thanks

How do you know if I gave her money or not I never mentioned if I did or did not. All I’m saying is I find it strange that she’s still out and about panhandling for at least a good 2 years that I’ve noticed when Seattle has so many places that would help her, especially since she has children. Mary’s Place (I think for one)
And you have no right to think of what my beliefs are to accuse me of being what did you call it “Reagan Era welfare queen” I for one have never had to go that route (public assistance) but do have friends that have and have always helped them when I could.

So to end this… you all can think that I’m a negative judging person and that’s your right but I know what I am.

Seriously?? If you don’t want to give her money, don’t give her money, but don’t jump on that Reagan-era “welfare queen” nonsense. Seriously. You don’t, as Stella above says, know her – or anyone’s – situation. People drive up to the foodbank in Lexuses (Lexi?) sometimes. Do I decide they’re somehow not worthy of getting food? Absolutely not. I don’t know their story. They probably purchased the car when they were doing well and aren’t doing well now. And “not doing well” can mean so many different things. You may be able to see that someone’s not doing well, but please remember that there are invisible disabilities, both physical and mental, and that we have an incredibly unequal healthcare system in this country. And they may be out of work because they have to care for others. You don’t know.

All of which is to say, why do you feel the need to pass judgement? If you don’t want to give her money, don’t. Why do you feel the need to advertise your doubts here?

NO I do not have all the time in the world, I’m 65 and have worked and still working for the last 48 plus years of my life. I just find it strange that she can travel store to store to panhandle and yes, I do not know her circumstances.
As for the “African” woman as you pointed out I had never seen her and I do not judge people by their Color/Race as you seem to.
I’m not posting here to get into a dizzy fit with anyone I understand people have their reasons to panhandle it was just my observation that I recall seeing her at numerous businesses that are not close together/walking distance just seems sad that she has no family to help and or the resources.

My husband was sideswiped yesterday at 1st Ave S and East Marginal Way near the Chevron station by a large box truck as they turned from 1st Ave and headed towards the first ave bridge southbound. The truck when turning came into his lane sideswiping our car on the drivers side front panel and ripped off the front bumper and front end of the car and kept on going. My husband wasn’t injured and followed the truck and got some information off the truck but was unable to get the driver to pull over as he continued toward highway 99. Our insurance company is dealing with the trucking company but a witness would be helpful. We know this is a longshot but I am wondering if anyone might have been in the area and witnessed this event. If so please post here and I will reach out to you.
