I have not ever pretended to be open minded when the fate of my country is at stake.
There’s no room for prevarication when the United States of America is perceived as a bully aggressor nation, the laughing stock of the world. Whatever international good will we had after 9/11 is in the toilet.
There’s no time to smooth over hurt feelings when McCain has made a mockery of the office of vice president. But of course we all know he doesn’t like government anyway, in spite of the fact that he’s made a career of it, feeding at the public trough.
No, I’m not tolerant at all of the assault on the middle class, the mushrooming of poverty, homelessness and hunger, the slide into third-world status of what was once the greatest country on earth. What the hell is wrong with people who think it’s ridiculous to perceive paying taxes as patriotic? It’s rampant greed that got us where we are and I don’t have any patience with people who don’t understand the principle that the whole is greater than its parts.
I am not open minded about those who would go to church on Sunday and pray to god, but cheat on their taxes, or those who would lie, or those without ethics. There’s a cancer in this country, and yes, it makes me mad as hell.
And one more thing: Palin as president? We would be SITTING DUCKS for a terrorist attack of unprecedented magnitude. You want to be open minded about that scenario, go ahead. Not me.
