Consider the ATT “Go Phone.” A cheap phone purchased at Bartells can be had for $20 – $30, and then you pre pay $15, $25, $50, or $100 at a time and the minutes are $.10. This allows you to have a variable bill that can be as low as several dollars per month to perhaps $10 or $15 dollars per month if you talk a lot. NO contracts!

.

ATT coverage is generally very good. Just remember to put money on your phone because the minutes DO expire if you do not use them in a certain time frame. Best buy is the $100 option where the minutes are good for a year. And even if you don’t use all you money (minutes) just put some more money on the phone before the expiration date and you get to keep all your minutes.
