Pottering Series at the Clay Cauldron

Explore the world of clay at the Clay Cauldron. Classes are now open for the Autumn 2024 and Winter 2025 quarters. The Pottering series is designed for beginner potters who enjoy learning how to create simple, yet functional ceramics. You will learn various techniques including rolling, forming, smoothing, pinch pots, and glazing.

The classes are limited to six students to maintain a hands-on and immersive experience. Experience the world of pottery by yourself or bring some friends. You will be a part of the pottery community of creators as we explore the medium together.

Your creations will be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can pick up your creations 3 weeks after the class. The Pottering instructor will email you when your piece is ready. Please pick up your piece within 14 days of the email.

Rat City Studios is facilitating an exhibition at Dubsea Coffee, in White Center, in October of 2024 – “The Community Cup Showcase.” This year is our 7th year putting on the event! Current and past Rat City Studios members, current and past staff, visiting artists, and (sister-studio) Rain City Clay students are joining in this fun event by adding cups and mugs to the showcase. We want to display the diversity of clay work happening in the Seattle area and showcase the creativity of people working (or who have worked) with RCS & RCC. This exhibition will take place during the whole month of October! This is a yearly event that continues to grow as Dubsea has granted us an October exhibition space for the coming years. Cups and mugs will be on display and for sale at Dubsea Coffee. It is a “cash and carry” sales event meaning when people purchase their cup (cash or card payment) they can take it home with them right away.

This community studio, located in White Center, is home to founder-potter-instructor-author Deb Schwartzkopf. RCS offers monthly studio access to studio artist participants, skill building online clay workshops, and a variety of firing service options. We support artists at many levels through experiential learning and shared experience.

Pottering Series at the Clay Cauldron

Explore the world of clay at the Clay Cauldron. Classes are now open for the Autumn 2024 and Winter 2025 quarters. The Pottering series is designed for beginner potters who enjoy learning how to create simple, yet functional ceramics. You will learn various techniques including rolling, forming, smoothing, pinch pots, and glazing.

The classes are limited to six students to maintain a hands-on and immersive experience. Experience the world of pottery by yourself or bring some friends. You will be a part of the pottery community of creators as we explore the medium together.

Your creations will be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can pick up your creations 3 weeks after the class. The Pottering instructor will email you when your piece is ready. Please pick up your piece within 14 days of the email.

Create a pierced constellation, ceramic luminary. Reminiscent of the night sky, your handmade luminary emanates a soft glow when lit with a candle. You will learn slab rolling, piercing, joining, and glazing.

Pottering Series at the Clay Cauldron

Explore the world of clay at the Clay Cauldron. Classes are now open for the Autumn 2024 and Winter 2025 quarters. The Pottering series is designed for beginner potters who enjoy learning how to create simple, yet functional ceramics. You will learn various techniques including rolling, forming, smoothing, pinch pots, and glazing.

The classes are limited to six students to maintain a hands-on and immersive experience. Experience the world of pottery by yourself or bring some friends. You will be a part of the pottery community of creators as we explore the medium together.

Your creations will be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can pick up your creations 3 weeks after the class. The Pottering instructor will email you when your piece is ready. Please pick up your piece within 14 days of the email.

Create a pierced constellation, ceramic luminary. Reminiscent of the night sky, your handmade luminary emanates a soft glow when lit with a candle. You will learn slab rolling, piercing, joining, and glazing.

Rat City Studios is facilitating an exhibition at Dubsea Coffee, in White Center, in October of 2024 – “The Community Cup Showcase.” This year is our 7th year putting on the event! Current and past Rat City Studios members, current and past staff, visiting artists, and (sister-studio) Rain City Clay students are joining in this fun event by adding cups and mugs to the showcase. We want to display the diversity of clay work happening in the Seattle area and showcase the creativity of people working (or who have worked) with RCS & RCC. This exhibition will take place during the whole month of October! This is a yearly event that continues to grow as Dubsea has granted us an October exhibition space for the coming years. Cups and mugs will be on display and for sale at Dubsea Coffee. It is a “cash and carry” sales event meaning when people purchase their cup (cash or card payment) they can take it home with them right away.

Explore the world of clay at the Clay Cauldron. Classes are now open for the Autumn 2024 and Winter 2025 quarters. The Pottering series is designed for beginner potters who enjoy learning how to create simple, yet functional ceramics. You will learn various techniques including rolling, forming, smoothing, pinch pots, and glazing.

The classes are limited to six students to maintain a hands-on and immersive experience. Experience the world of pottery by yourself or bring some friends. You will be a part of the pottery community of creators as we explore the medium together.

Your creations will be glazed and fired in the kiln. You can pick up your creations 3 weeks after the class. The Pottering instructor will email you when your piece is ready. Please pick up your piece within 14 days of the email.
