The Green New Deal: it’s all the rage, but what’s behind the media hype? Come hear from local organizers on the ground about the potential of the Green New Deal to accelerate achievements for climate justice, then learn about the economics behind the policy, and ways to respond to claims that a Green New Deal for all is too expensive and too impractical. You’ll walk away with concrete ways plug into local action on the ground here in Washington.

11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. – BREAKING THE CYCLE OF TRAUMA: INDIVIDUAL + COMMUNITY HEALING POSSIBILITIES. Facilitated by Nikki Châu and Tam Dinh.

1 p.m. – 3 p.m. – ENDING SAVIOR WORK AS A STEP TOWARDS PERSONAL & COMMUNITY HEALING. Presented by Reel Grrls.
Panelists will share their experiences on the negative impacts of savior work as they have successfully navigated balancing leadership while creating strong personal boundaries to avoid upholding the toxic systems of the patriarchy and white supremacy. 3 p.m. – 5 p.m. – ENDING FAKE ACTIVISM & RECOGNIZING AUTHENTIC ACTIVISM. Presented by Reel Grrls.
Being engaged and working to eliminate oppression is a heavy lift, but when we do it together it’s a thing of beauty. There’s a lot of work to do, so be inspired by the lessons learned from breaking into male dominated spaces and centering on social justice. Learn how to root out toxic behaviors in yourself and identify when others are weaponizing their tears, status, or self perceived adversity to manipulate you into not holding them accountable for their actions or refusing to hear critical feedback. Also learn how to maintain authentic relationships with those you want to be in solidarity with.
