The West Seattle Glass Float Hunt returns August 7 through 14 with a simple goal: bring more people through the doors of West Seattle’s independent businesses.

Each day, hand blown glass floats will be hidden throughout participating businesses and public spaces across the peninsula. This year, daily clues are taking a back seat. Clues will only be released if a float hasn’t been found, giving participants a chance to explore West Seattle, stop into and discover local businesses, as well as experience the neighborhoods that make this community so unique.

“The Glass Float Hunt has never just been about finding a glass float,” said Rachel Porter, Executive Director of the West Seattle Chamber. “It’s about supporting the small businesses that make West Seattle so distinct. We hope people will grab a coffee, browse a shop they’ve never walked into, stay to eat, and spend time supporting the businesses that invest in this community every day.”

Every float is registered by scanning its QR code, with real time updates available at westseattleglassfloathunt.com. Once a float has been claimed, it is immediately marked as found, making the website the official source for hunt updates.

The West Seattle Glass Float Hunt is funded in part by a Neighborhood Matching Fund award from Seattle Department of Neighborhoods and is put on by the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce and the West Seattle Junction Association.
