Acts On Stage presents “That Talk You Do,” the debut one-woman show of Tia Nache !

For more than twenty years, Seattle has been home to consummate wordsmyth, award-winning poet and
spoken word artist, Tia Nache Fields-Yarborough. In the tradition of Maya Angelou, Nicki Giovanni,
Ntozke Shange, Whoopi Goldberg, Ruby Dee, and Amanda Gorman, TIA NACHE moves from the
shadows of speak-easies and slam competitions into the longing spotlight of centerstage! Effortlessly, Tia
weaves reflections into revelations as she performs a characterized homage to Seattle, Blackness,
Womanhood, and Faith. At all times she is as infatuating as she is inspirational!

In collaboration with Acts On Stage (the only Black owned and operated community theater space in Seattle),
Tia Nache unpacks 20 years of poetic lyricism and rhetoric to create a dynamic one-act theater
experience that will leave audiences volleying between nostalgia, reflection, and activistic angst while
erupting with laughter, amens, and uncontrollable
head bobs to the part gospel part hip hop soundtrack
of her life. Tia is transcendent, powerful,
non-rhetorical, and that good girlfriend everybody
needs at least once in their life! “That Talk You
Do” is a pre-holiday production that runs Nov. 4-13
at Acts On Stage theater in the White Center
neighborhood.
