From the West Seattle High School newsletter:

On January 15 WSHS is launching a “No Place for Hate” Campaign to help establish and maintain a school environment where all students can thrive. Please join the PTSA on January 22 to learn more about this effort at WSHS and for a workshop lead by facilitators from Families of Color Seattle. The workshop is designed to help us all be more equipped to talk with students and others in the school community about race, racism, anti-racism and anti-bias. The 2-hour workshop will include presentations, videos and dialogue. Principal Brian Vance and several staff members will be on hand to join in the discussion. A recent workshop at Alki Elementary attracted over 40 parents and received rave reviews. We will conduct very brief PTSA general meeting business at 6:45 and devote the rest of the time to the topic of Undoing Racism and Teaching Equity to Teens. Join us at 6:30 to have some pizza! RSVP here to help us plan.
