The Southwest Seattle Historical Society, located in the Log House Museum one block from Alki Beach, is looking for community volunteers to greet visitors, lead tour groups, help with community events, support its Native Plant Garden, and even assist with collections care and research. The Historical Society is also seeking volunteers to serve on a range of advisory committees.

The museum will host a Volunteer Open House on Wednesday September 4 from 4-6 pm. The open house is open to those who are interested in volunteering and those who are just curious about the organization and its opportunities. It is also a great chance to meet current volunteers.

The Southwest Seattle Historical Society, which owns and operates the Log House Museum, was founded in 1985 by community volunteers. Today, the volunteer and member powered organization has a mission to promote inclusive local history through education, preservation, and advocacy.
