Dear Neighbor,

The Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is a nonprofit provider of affordable housing and tiny house villages in Seattle and King County. We currently manage 11 tiny house villages in Seattle and four in Skyway and Tukwila. We are writing to inform you that we are hosting a Community Meeting for a new village in South Park called Cloverleaf Village. The village will be located at 9128 10th Ave S., Seattle, WA 98108 near the cloverleaf at Highway 99 and Des Moines Memorial Dr. S.

LIHI invites you to attend our Community Meeting for Cloverleaf Village:

Thursday, May 21st at 5:30 PM

South Park Community Center

8319 8th Ave S, Seattle, WA 98108

Lot & street parking is available

Refreshments will be served prior to the meeting

At the Cloverleaf Village meeting, attendees will hear from Pastor Lawrence Willis of New Direction Missionary Baptist Church, the village’s faith sponsor. LIHI staff and a representative from the City of Seattle will make a presentation about the village’s construction and operating plan. We wish to hear your thoughts and to answer your questions.

Cloverleaf Village will operate as an enhanced shelter, providing a pathway to housing for individuals and couples who are experiencing homelessness. The village will include 90 tiny houses. Each tiny house measures 8’x12’ (the size of a small bedroom), and includes the following features: windows, a door, electricity, smoke detector, insulation, heat, AC, a bed, furnishings, and a welcome kit. The village will be staffed 24/7 and will feature staff and case management offices, a community kitchen, hygiene facilities, and laundry facilities. Clients will participate in case management in order to obtain identification, apply for income support, and access healthcare, supportive services, employment, and housing. Behavioral health services will also be available onsite. The village will be fully enclosed by a fence with a security pavilion at the entrance to ensure privacy and safety for program participants.

A Community Advisory Committee comprised of businesses, neighbors, faith organizations, and members of the community will be established. CAC will meet monthly and members will get regular updates on activities in the village and opportunities to provide input. The meetings will be open to the public.

LIHI believes that tiny house villages are a creative and effective solution in ending homelessness for hundreds of people. We are continuing our partnership with the City of Seattle to help our neighbors most in need. If you have any questions or comments, please contact LIHI’s Community Engagement Manager, Marta Kidane.
