Please mark your calendars right now for a special election meeting of the Genesee-Schmitz Neighborhood Council, to be held next Thursday, November 29, at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Great American Diner (in the back room), 4752 California Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98116. [The restaurant has kindly offered us the use of this space, and they ask that meeting attendees consider ordering a drink, appetizer, dessert, or dinner in exchange.]

The main purpose of the meeting is to elect new officers to the Executive Committee, since most of the current officers have been serving for several years and are ready to step down. We will also have brief updates on the 48th & Charlestown Park property and possibly the Urban Homestead Foundation effort to acquire the old Dakota Substation property at 50th & Dakota.

We are pleased to say we have a full slate of candidates for the election. Anyone else who wishes to run for a position may do so by notifying us ASAP at info@genesee-schmitz.org. Please provide your name, phone number, email address, and the name of the position you wish to run for. Candidates may also be nominated from the floor at the meeting.

Proposed Slate of Officers:
President Molly Magnifico
Co-Vice President Nicole McCullough
Co-Vice President Judy Croteau
Secretary Pam Phillips
Treasurer Bob Yeasting (returning)
Recording Secretary Laurie Matthews
