D1CN Mission: To unite and strengthen the District 1 community for the benefit of all 
D1CN Vision: To provide information, knowledge, expertise, and experience to develop productive
relationships and effective communication among District 1 councils, associations, groups and
governmental, business and community constituent

D1CN Focus Areas for screening of projects to support. Projects must fit in one of these focus areas.
1:  Advocate for accountability in local governments. 
2:  Empower community-based organizations in District 1. 
3:  Spread knowledge about current local issues. 
4: Collaborate across neighborhoods to influence outcomes of key issues.

are upcoming to watch out for.


Focus Items New and Updates
 Port Briefing (Guest Mick Schultz) – 30 min
 Misdemeanor Crimes proposal at City Council (Jim) – 5 min
 Elections subcommittee (Randy) – 15 min

Open discussion
What is your concept of accountability and transparency? How do you measure it?
Outcome: On Focus Area 1, we can request follow up in a useful way to ensure that we know their progress
as promised, when they will be done and who are they working with.

Additional topics
Two date choices for special session on doing outreach to your “whole community” – learning
how to provide accommodation for languages and Access and Functional Needs (hearing, mobility
etc). The date choices are Weds March 17 or Tues March 23, evening. Please be prepared to vote
on date.
