This celebration will raise $10,000 to replace tools and equipment stolen from job sites in the Seattle Area. A community-based, low income housing developer, Habitat builds houses inexpensively, using primarily volunteer labor, and sells them at cost (at no profit and with no interest) to working families in Seattle and south King County. We can transform the theft into an opportunity to raise awareness for housing issues, support Habitat for Humanity and enable them to fulfill their mission. Please support Homes for the Holidays by making a contribution to Habitat for Humanity of Seattle/South King County. Thanks W Seattle Blog for letting us know about the Northwest Wine Academy Holiday Tasting – just got back from Friday’s event (also runs Saturday). The wines are all made at South Seattle Community College, are quite nice and nicely priced too, running from $12 – $15 per bottle. We tasted (and bought) oaked and unoaked chardonnay from the same harvest and it was so interesting to see the difference between these two! We also tasted filtered vs. unfiltered cab sauvignon…again it was a revelation to see what a difference some of the small tweaks make. We chatted with the winemaker and his team while munching on tasty appetizers. If you’re looking for some good wines to taste or buy that are delicious and local, check this event out tomorrow (or Fri. nite until 8)!

Thanks for the review – my item for tonight mentions it’s happening tomorrow too but I will tweak the WSWL so that it has a separate entry for tomorrow as well – TR

Sorry, comment time is over.
