The 5K is open to all runners, walkers, fire fighters and family members of all ages, including well behaved four-legged best friends.
We’ll have a special Kids’ Area for the younger set and a Beer Garden on tap to cool off the runners and event friends. And you don’t want to miss out on the prizes for both runners and the drawings for 5K event patrons, e.g. restaurant gift cards, theatre tickets, harbor cruise, etc.
The firefighters are sounding the ‘third alarm’ for your help to support young burn survivors ages 7-17.So grab your running shoes, your friends and get ready to run or walk for a great cause. The Beat the Burn 5K Team appreciates your support to help meet the challenge to help send kids impacted by burns, to Camp Eyabsut summer camp. Don’t forget to bring your bucks and help fill the boots!
The proceeds from the 5K support Camp Eyabsut, the annual summer camp for young burn survivors. The name “Eyabsut” means, “To Rise Above Anything!”Our mission: “to enhance the self-esteem of every child and enrich their physical, social and emotional growth”.
Come meet our fire fighter partners, the Port of Seattle Fire Department/Local 1257 firefighters and the Washington State Council of Fire Fighters Burn Foundation along with our local sponsors that help prevent, educate and support burn prevention in our communities.Working as a team, we can put out the flame!! We look forward to seeing you on Sunday, September 29, 2013 at the 5K!
