You asked, so we’re asking: Any West Seattleites involved with Artemis II?

(NASA image from Artemis II moon flyby)

The Artemis II crew is home safe from its Moon-flyby mission, as of just after 5 pm our time. According to our state’s U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell, dozens of Washington state companies contributed in some way to the Artemis II mission. WSB reader Cindi wondered if anyone from West Seattle played a part in any way. If you know, she – and we – would love to hear – comment below or email us!

While I do hope that WS and anyone who loves astronomy can celebrate the Artemis mission success, does the dichotomy of everything else going on in the world right now not pulse like a boil?I truly do think it’s fascinating…the space trip and all the nonsense Mars talk. But for real, we’re spending billions on bombs to kill now, and billions on photo-op moon trips…..while nobody has Healthcare and fenty addicts are giving up on life all around us.I don’t understand the hope for Mars space travel when your kids kids kids will all be dead….when we kill and bomb today w impunity, and we ignore it. And none of us can get a free MRI when we need one

I used to work on the Space Shuttle as a Main Propulsion System (MPS) Engineer. For a couple weeks toward the end of the program, I went to Huntsville, AL to help out with development of the SLS rocket. I still have friends who work for NASA and were involved with various parts of Artemis.

Sorry, comment time is over.
