VIDEO: Orcas in Elliott Bay

12:43 PM: Here’s an opportunity for Friday afternoon whale-watching: Kersti Muul just texted with a report that “a big group of transients” headed southbound just entered Elliott Bay off Magnolia. Let us know if you see them!

3:35 PM: In addition to the updates in comments, we now have video! Thanks to Jamie Kinney for sharing this:

A lot of people on Alki got great views of them in Elliott Bay. They seem to have headed north now toward Discovery Park.

We were over on Vashon looking at the troll and saw them swim by the lighthouse right before 6 p.m.!  A magical ending to a perfect Seattle day.

Nice to see the video. I was one of the people watching from the ferry. I had been seeing on my phone that they were in Eliott Bay and told several people on the ship that we might be lucky enough to see them. Don’t know when was the last time so many people thanked me for something. Just kept saying I enjoyed it as much as you did.

Sorry, comment time is over.
