UPDATE: Police investigating suspected gunfire on Fauntleroy Way

9:33 PM SUNDAY: Police are looking for evidence after suspected gunfire on Fauntleroy Way near SW Raymond. We’ve heard about it from multiple readers, including two who shared security-camera video/audio – in this clip, you hear the suspected shots right after cars pass by on Fauntleroy, about 29 seconds into the video. No injuries reported, and no confirmation yet of evidence found.

MONDAY AFTERNOON: We followed up with SPD today. Officers did not find any evidence (casings, damage, eyewitnesses, injuries).

I heard what I thought were 2 firecrackers around this same time, but they sounded a lot like the shots in the recording, so now I’m wondering. They sounded like they were a block or 2 away, vs. up, over and down the hill from here on Fauntleroy. There was also more time between the pops vs. the recording, so I don’t think they’re the same. Possibly related additional shots? I live near C&P Coffee. I’d place the pops ~4 blocks toward the Sound from California, I’d guess.

Can confirm the shots were on Fauntleroy near Raymond. It was seconds after a slower car drove by my apartment.

This car crept past me as I was walking home up Graham last night. Seconds after I got in my door I heard the shots and the car speeding off. So unsettling.
