As noted when we reported three weeks ago on the seasonal shutdown of Tony’s Market, proprietor Joey Genzale told us he’d be reopening as usual for pre-Halloween pumpkin sales. And we noticed this afternoon that a sign’s up outside the canopied market at 35th/Barton: Open for pumpkin sales September 29th (this Friday)!
Do they take EBT yet? A few years ago they wouldn’t accept it. I would love to shop for produce there, but as a senior on a fixed income I find it difficult.
Was so bummed to learn about the pending closure of MacPherson’s produce stand just across the bridge, but perhaps that news could inspire some fresh momentum for Tony’s.
