UPDATE: Stuck truck blocks westbound West Seattle low bridge for 3+ hours

1:29 PM: Thanks to Eddie for the photo. That stalled semitruck is still blocking the westbound low bridge, which is down to one lane as a result. It’s been there more than an hour.

2:59 PM: Police have just told dispatch “the bridge is open both ways.”

Just came off of the upper Spokane Street Bridge that provides exit to N and S bound I-5.   Must have counted at least a dozen holes about 6” wide and 3 to 6” deep….  Expect them to declare the overhead Spokane Street Bridge to be condemned.  Have to ask ourselves ( sense the State won’t give us any answers) why wasn’t repairs done to these surfaces while the bridge was repaired?  The surface of the overhead Spokane street viaduct has been crumbling for years with nothing more than bandaid filler in holes.  Maybe State government should replace those that oversee our highways with more competent personnel.  We really ought to hold elected officials responsible for how they are spending our tax dollars.

The Spokane Street Viaduct is a city structure, except for the final ramps to I-5.
