Heard the booms?

We did too. As did police, and they’ve concluded the same thing we did – just fireworks. Don’t know exactly where but sounded rather close to the Gatewood/Upper Fauntleroy line.

I thought my dishwasher was going bad!  If I didn’t see this thread, I would’ve called a plumber.

Fri eve I heard booms, watched out window and saw fireworks in sky.  Aprox north of Barton/west of 35th, maybe near Director street.

Just? There are many reasons why fireworks are illegal in Seattle, including endangering lives and property and sending all our pets and wildlife into a trembling panic. Even better, if the criminals are fined.

Those have been semi-regular the last 6 months or so. We live near 42nd & Cloverdale snd they originate from what looks like a couple of blocks to the S/SE. Large fireworks (mortar launch style, colorful burst with report) from the same location, usually on weekend evenings in the 9-11pm range. Usually they launch off 2-3, last night they did a bunch more.

This happens periodically in what sounds like the upper Fauntleroy area.  It’s very annoying because everytime it happens there doesn’t seem to be any reason like a game win.  They are so loud and just when you think its over, there’s another.  I hope this moron gets caught one if these days.  If it’s coming from a neighborhood, surely someone must know who it is.

Just leave them alone Stanley. They’re not hurting anything. If it were gun shots into the air, that would be another thing. But some decent fireworks now and then, come on, lighten up, go for a hike.

I agree 100%, John. Enjoy the free show.

Mmm, nah. Fireworks are illegal, and they scare the birds (literally to death sometimes).

It’s been going on for several years.  It’s a couple blocks south of Thistle, on either 39th or 40th.  Close enough that a few times I’ve gone out to see if I could find the house.  Although the height of the mortar shot leads me to believe it’s one of the houses below the stairs on 39th.

Agreed on the theory that they may be coming from bottom of the stairs. They almost always explode 30-50’ over the houses on the dead end section of 41st, with the size of those types of shells they have to be starting from lower.
