TRAFFIC ALERT: Signal work on SW Holden

Thanks for the tips. Sorry we didn’t have an advance alert about this, but we just went to check after a couple of texts, and here’s what we found: SW Holden is blocked because of ongoing work on the new pedestrian signal that’s being installed at 12th SW.

All day, people have been ROARING past my home on 11th SW.   I was out cleaning my car, when a big pickup truck went by me at nearly 40 mph about a foot from me  and the open car door.   There was also a game of chicken out there and forced a car to back up a few houses into a parking spot because the other car refused to pull aside and wait for the oncoming car to pass by.

I live on SW Sullivan. Was wondering why there was a constant stream of cars speeding by all day. One ran over one of the neighbourhood squirrels right in front of my house. We tried to get speed bumps on our street during COVID due to the crazy traffic with no luck. Why do people drive so fast?

      Racing to the grave.

What depresses me is there are so many dumb asses that drive so recklessly in our neighborhood around detours, as if this wasn’t a neighborhood.  And I know writing this wont make any impression on them because they are clueless.

The way some drivers lose their minds and create dangerous environments for everyone in their path driving to save a minute is a really sad state of affairs–and cars are getting bigger and more dangerous for urban environments to boot. Driving like the world will end if they get somewhere a minute later. To put it kindly, they are assholes. I’m sorry to the neighbors who had to deal with this…and the high bridge closure.

It was hell all day long here on Kenyon nonstop traffic (even bumper to bumper at times!) on our lil ol side street, primarily due to the street closure of the signal work on main drag of Holden, but add to the mix of the popular pop-up of Dicks Burgers on the corner at the Corner Store (long lines!) and the car-into-pole accident (10th SW & SW Kenyon)  with fire truck and police cars a 1/2 block away from the pop up, 2 blocks from the Holden closure, and it was crazy bad! Traffic was like when the WSBridge first closed and 1st. So. Bridge up and trees fallen down on Highland Park hill.. it gets wild over here sometimes!! 😬

Sorry, comment time is over.
