UPDATE: SFD response at 47th/Graham, false alarm

11:16 PM: Seattle Fire is responding to 47th/Graham for what’s initially reported as “heavy smoke from the roof, called in by a neighbor.” First crews in aren’t seeing anything, so they’re trying to verify the address. Updates to come.

11:22 PN: Turns out to have been a backyard fire pit, and the fire’s out, so the callout is being canceled.

Hopefully everyone is ok, I heard all the noise from FD trucks already.

      Quickly canceled.

Thank God it wasn’t a fire. So many fire department vehicles screaming down California. Great response by SFD. Now, I  will TRY to get some sleep.

Like most regulations, those related to fire pits are seldom followed.  Recreational fire is an absurdly dangerous activity in these times – not to mention on the hottest day of the year.

Not to mention, awful for the neighbors trying to keep their windows open and just generally weird on a hot night – sitting around the fire, sweeting?

Recreational fires that comply with the fire code are not considered “absurdly dangerous”.

Why are neighbors calling in bbq pit smoke fires? Come on go outside and check first! Waste.

Sorry, comment time is over.
