WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Gunfire investigation

Another confirmed gunfire incident in West Seattle. The overnight police summaries say that 911 got reports of suspected gunfire just after 9:30 last night. Near 16th and Barton, police found “evidence of a shooting,” but no victims or property damage. The report says “witnesses in the area” told police that two vehicles might have been involved with the gunfire, described as “a dark SUV and dark sedan.”

I was sitting outside then and counted 11 shots. I noted the time 9:30 because I knew I’d be reading up and commenting here. As always thanks WSB and TOO MANY GUNS!

      TOO MANY CRIMINALS

Aye, too many criminals indeed.  Seattle’s got to find a way to attract more SPD Officers.  I suppose the question is, will the culture in the anti-police Seattle council change?  Or will they keep yammering about ‘defunding’.  Sadly, Seattle keeps reelecting the same anti-SPD  politicians.  The new “anti-crime” mayor hasn’t made 1 attempt to bring new officers on board, and is much aligned with with the last 2 mayors (aside from his theatric homeless sweeps).

I live on 18th and heard the gunshots.  Sounded like a semi automatic and was around a dozen shots.  This has happening far too frequently in this area. Seems like gunshots popping off at least once a month to every other week in this area alone. The apartments on 18th & Barton are a nuisance and attract a lot of illicit activity on the daily. Neighbors are fed up with nothing being done.  What action can be taken if any?

If anyone has ring cameras: turn them on,  program them and face it towards the streets. Let’s bombard the police with legitimate evidence to get these gun shooting drivers locked away for good.  Take clear photos of suspicious cars that look out of place in your neighborhood and keep a log of them. A driveby gun shooting terrorist should not get a second chance when they’ve endangered so many lives.

Hey Delridge Neighbor, need more people like you my friend.

I like you’re thinking @delridgeneighbor. Wonder if anyone has any footage from their Ring’s that night?  Probably should keep them on to capture more of the activity happening in front of the apartments.

Oh 16th and Barton. I’m shocked. Kind of like 16th-17th and Henderson

I remember a time when news of gunfire was a really big deal.  This makes me so sad.

Gunfire used to be a huge deal requiring precious resources and precision manual skill and dexterity to even get a bullet loaded. Nowadays literally thousands of bullets can be fired by anybody in the time it used to take to load a single shot. It’s time our tolerance and laws change!

You can change the laws, funny thing is, criminals don’t obey laws… Sure you can have all legal gun owners surrender their guns, then it would just be criminals and a depleted police force with guns. What’s that gonna fix?

Sorry, comment time is over.
