9:30 PM: That’s cleared, says SDOT, but now they’re reporting a crash on the low bridge, blocking the westbound lane.
10:30 PM: SDOT reports the low-bridge crash has cleared.
I have to laugh at “avoid the area.” Wish we could. The accident is in the westbound lanes of W. Marginal Way/Spokane St. (not sure which one it is at that point), a half-block east of the five-way intersection. We and others were able to avoid it by taking the route through the port/industrial area to the light at the five-way intersection and then continuing west. Glad to hear it’s cleared. No serious injuries?
Sorry, that’s also meant to be shorthand for “if you were about to head that way, don’t, for a while.”
I meant that as a more cosmic comment, as in how else to get in and out of north West Seattle, and wish I could avoid the congestion and tension at that intersection, not a comment on your wording.
There are many ways to get to that location without using the “West Marginal 500” route.
