Traffic trouble, power outage after pole hit in South Park

Thanks to Curtis for the photo from 8th Avenue South/South Chicago [map] in South Park, Per police-radio communication, a crane took out that pole, and it is affecting people beyond the immediate area – roads are closed for several blocks around, and the resulting power outage includes the light at West Marginal and South Holden, by a much-used ramp just south of the 1st Avenue South Bridge. No word of any injuries.

I was wondering if there’d been another “X vs. Pole” incident. 9000 block of 16th SW, and had long enough of a flicker kick Comcast internet offline until my modem could reboot, and to turn off my TV,  as well as to make me exclaim; “Not again!” in what would I feared would be a third power outage on the past few weeks. —Mike

I’m on Alki and my UPS clicked once.  I was wondering who lost power.

Still a traffic light out at 3:00 at busy Holden and Marginal. Messy. People aren’t really doing the 4 way stop thing. Why still out at a minimum of 4.5 hours after the crash? Why no police directing traffic? This isn’t Mayberry.

Sorry, comment time is over.
