TRAFFIC ALERT: Marine View Drive closure

2:33 PM: Thanks to Barbara for the report: “Police have blocked off Marine View Dr. just north of where SW 100th merges. Power pole is leaning over Marine View Drive.”

3:27 PM: We just went over for an update. Marine View is closed from Roxbury to 106tb. Police say the pole is cleared but downed wires haven’t been, yet.

This is one of the things that people talk about when they say police have too much on their plates.  It would be great if things like this were handled by other city agencies to free up the police to do policing.

Right.  We’ll hire a whole new crew of city employees, and station them throughout the city so they can quickly respond 24/7 to matters of public safety.  We should probably put them in cars with flashing lights so they can safely close a road or something , day or night, when necessary…

yeah CH, that would be all the SDOT crews that we approved a near $1B for a few years back to build a useless streetcar and not maintain a large concrete bridge.

Dang, West Seattle is falling APART! Someone grab a glue gun.

RCS, thank you for the best comment. I needed a good laugh this morning and you provided it. Might add they need the glue gun for the wharf that’s falling away in downtown Seattle.

if it is the pole just up from the picture, then while you are at it can you replace the light as it has been out since early spring and had been reported to City Light who replied get back to us in 45 days if not replaced yet.  Very dark thru there at night.

It was back opened this morning at 7 am.  I avoided it last night on my way home as I saw that it was closed.  Thx WSB for keeping us informed.

Sorry we weren’t able to go back and check on it last night, so I don’t know exactly when it reopened – thank you for the update.

Sorry, comment time is over.
