Trailer burns in southeast West Seattle

Thanks for the tips. We’re just back from 1st/Kenyon, in the southeast West Seattle industrial area fronting on Highway 509, where there was a briefly sizable Seattle Fire response. As shown in our photo, a trailer burned on the east side of 1st. Firefighters told us no one was hurt; the cause is under investigation.

I work in this area, this was the latest person to move into our own skid row down here. I have seen no dogs in this group. Thank God.

This area has been cleaned up several times .  The RVs and trailers always return.  It’s a real mess along the right-of-way.

I live by here too. The area has been cleared many times in the last year and the same cars and trailers return. This camp has grown larger lately and I’m always worried I will hit someone. About a dozen times I’ve had to stop fast for someone wandering into the road, completely unaware. I always go slow there now, but it hurts to see humans living so poorly. It’s constantly full of garbage and the people are on a skinny roadside, sometimes almost naked, rain or shine. I really wish we did something. I’d love to have safe lots that could help people into services and we’d ban unsafe vehicles from our roads. It’s pretty awful for everyone.

You’ve described this perfectly. Both your empathy and ideas for help strike a thoughtful balance.

Look  ,the people that  have moved here are alot  of the reason there  are more homeless people here in this area,so instead of complaining about it help out instead…I was born and raised here and I’ve never seen such snobbery and greed in this area sorry but go home.

Sorry, comment time is over.
